So Jesus said again, “Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me are thieves
and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the
gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will
come in and go out and find pasture. A thief comes only to
steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it
more abundantly.” - JN 10: 6-10

Prayer for Protection in the Face of the Coronavirus Pandemic
Loving and gracious God, as in all times, we turn to You and implore Your protection and healing as we face a new threat to our health and peaceful well-being in the coronavirus pandemic before us. Help us to be united with each other and with all of our brothers and sisters around the world affected by this illness. We pray for all those in the medical field who are assisting patients and in the field of science who are discerning a cure, as well as for all government leaders. Remember those who, through this virus, have passed from this life as well as their families in their loss.
At this time of fragile uncertainty, we also humbly implore You to grant us prudence, hope, courage and patience. Dispel from us fear, panic and distrust which disrupt us in spirit to the detriment of our well-being.
We make our prayer in the name of your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who always cured those who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. Our Lady, Patroness of our Diocese, Queen of the Apostles and Comforter of the Afflicted, pray for us, Amen.

Due to COVID-19 we have
rescheduled the Passion of Christ
play at the Sunrise Theatre to
March 2021.
If you purchased tickets for this year, please hold onto them! They will STILL
be honored for March 2021.
Family Resources
In times of trouble, we turn to the saints to learn how we ought to live with faith, as well as to ask for
their powerful intercession. The present pandemic is no different. As the faithful across the world turn to the Church triumphant for guidance.
The Martyrs of La Florida Curriculum Team would like to offer you some resources for learning about the Florida martyrs and sharing their stories with your children. The Home Activity kit can be found
under the news and events tab and select resources for the faithful.
Since this is a time when many families are isolated at home in order to promote public health,
this kit is designed to help families meaningfully dedicate time to learning about America’s early
Martyrs and the world in which they lived. May the activities proposed and the resources provided here foster family discussions about
self-sacrifice, freedom, and hope.

Catholics Around the World Are Praying the Rosary Together with New Website “Map of Hope” Group of friends Joe Kim, Joanna Hernandez, and Mike Del Ponte developed an amazing way for the world to gather in praying the rosary amid the coronavirus pandemic. The group created a “Map of Hope,” encouraging faith and prayer rather than fear. The map invites prayer warriors to post prayer intentions and commit to praying the rosary for those intentions. In response to the fear that tracking the coronavirus naturally creates, the map instead tracks each person’s place of prayer. “Like most people, everyday we looked at maps tracking the coronavirus,” the creators explain on the website.
“These maps kept getting worse, showing how the pandemic – and fear – was taking over the world. So we asked ourselves, ‘What if we could create something that gives people hope?’ “It would be simple,” they continue. “It would track something inspiring. Something that gets better every day. A movement of people around the globe. Immediate-ly, we thought, ‘It should be the rosary!’
“From these simple insights, the Map of Hope was born.” Pope Francis also encourages the faithful to pray the rosary throughout the month of May. What perfect timing!

The Pandemic Rosary
Pope Francis encouraged the faithful to pray the Rosary throughout the month of May. In a April 25th letter, he said “contemplating the face of Christ with the heart of Mary our Mother will make us even more united as a spiritual family
and will help us overcome this time of trial.”
He requests that families and individuals “rediscover the beauty of praying the rosary at home in the month of May.” Instagram user For Dust Thou Art shared a beautiful method of praying the Rosary amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
In the original post, the user writes, “Here’s something I’ve been working on in isolation. I wrote five prayers to be used at the Mysteries (in lieu of, or along with). I hope this brings a little light to your day. Stay safe out there!” The Rosary includes a simple diagram explaining the intention for each mystery. The user includes a prayer for the suffering and
dying, a prayer for the workers, a prayer for gratitude, a prayer for understanding, and a prayer for courage.

The Good Shepherd The readings in today’s Mass talk about Jesus the Good Shepherd. In Jesus’ time, and still
in some parts of the world today, there would be flocks of sheep grazing in pastures. The shepherds were the men who looked after the flocks and made sure none
of the sheep got lost or hurt or attacked by any wild animals.
The Church is the flock of Jesus, and He is the Good Shepherd. He guides the people in the Church so that their souls will not be hungry - He gives us grace, just like a shepherd
makes sure his sheep have lots of grass to eat!
Like the shepherd protects the sheep from danger, Our Lord also protects us from harm. In the “Our Father” we ask God to deliver us from evil. When our souls are hurt by sin,
the Good Shepherd heals us with forgiveness in Confession.
