Successful Case Study - Big Love Little Hearts
• Big Love Little Hearts works to provide life-saving surgery to children with congenital heart defects in developing countries.
• Used Foursquare for an advocacy, awareness and fundraising campaign called #100X100 that raised $25,000 in 24 hours and prompted more than 800 supporters to call their Congressmen
• A donor contributed $1 for every time someone checked-in (or tweeted) with the hashtag #100X100 on a specific day

Successful Case Study - Cincinnati Taft Art Museum
Text
“In Cincinnati, the Taft Museum of Art uses Foursquare as a membership loyalty program, offering increasing rewards as guests return again and again. The fifth check-in gets a free dessert, the 10th earns a free membership and the 15th gets a free poster or museum guidebook. It’s a great, easy way for the Taft to increase repeat visits.”
Public Awareness
Leave tips at related venues ( see case study)
Cross promote on Twitter, Facebook
Recognize your “Mayor”
Add your own venue to all GPS sites
Create scavenger hunts with info

Successful Case Study - Johnny Appleseed Model
“Jeep has left tips at some of the country’s top outdoor spots, including off-roading locations, national parks, trails, mountains, lakes, and other nature / outdoorsy locations that appeal to anyone with an interest in outdoor adventures.”
A health related nonprofit could do the same thing at hospitals, drug stores, gyms etc.

Volunteer ManagementVolunteers check-in at certain locations during events
Can track their hours as a “tip”
Non-profit creates it’s own profile so volunteers can “friend” and then follow your check-ins.
Click on the profile of each of your volunteers and see where they shop, dine and spend their free time. These are the places you want to look at to hold events or partner with!http://philanthropy.com/blogs/social-philanthropy/guest-post-how-nonprofit-groups-can-benefit-from-foursquare/22264
