TOP FOUR TIPS

Photography Workshops for moms, by Tanya Jacobs Photography.

A LITTLE BIT

about me

Wife to Christiaan.

Mom to Ella since November 2015.

Photographer to brides and families.

I created the little leap workshops to help moms learn how to use their expensive DSLR

cameras and take better photos of their families.

Family is important to me and so it seemed inevitable that I would venture into a career where

I preserve memories. I love nothing more than being surrounded by the people I love and

doing things together.

I hope this guide helps you to better learn how to use your camera to cherish your precious

moments.

CREATE SOME

fun

You'll want photos of your children laughing and smiling and the best

way to get these is by keeping them distracted with lots of fun

activities.

By creating a relaxed and fun environment, they'll happily forget about

the camera and give you photos are that candid.

GET DOWN TO THEIR

level

Get down on your knees and share a funny story. Ask them questions or better yet, ask

them to show you something.

The animated expressions as they listen or show you one of their prized possessions, is

always a winning shot!

Make it a game with two or more children and ask them to play 'broken telephone'.

Watch laughter ensue!

YOU'VE GOT TO BE A

little silly

You're not going to get happy photos if you're giving too much direction to get formal

shots.

Capture candid moments instead and rather make the experience of photographing

your children fun. If you want a group photo of kids looking straight at the camera, you're

going to have to be a little silly to get them to look at you and smile.

PICK A SPOT,

any spot

Babies and children like to move. Pick a spot and keep them entertained in that one

spot with toys, games and fun things to do.

Food also works great, seats them where you want them and give them a chocolate,

raisins or something yummy to eat. Watch for the mess and smiles!
