Borivali Design Fair 2016

Organised by Aditya Group Of Institutions, the design fair was inaugarated by Hon. Shri Ram Naik, Governor

of UP. Aditya College of Design Studies (ACDS) had created a design space where the student’s academic

work was displayed. Along with the portfolios, students made quite a few innovative furniture pieces that

included sofa made up of quilled newspapers, convertible sofa, puffy made with plastic bottles, Zen style

seating using tyres, centre table with wires. They also showcased their interior design models of studio apart-

ment and café and an abstract installation called “know yourself”. All in all, it was a very interactive design

space put together by the students and the staff.

The Design Fair invited eminent Architects, Interior Designers, Clasical Singers, Dancers, various other artists

by providing them a platform to showcase their talents. The event also had stalls showcasing various building

materials and live workshop and demonstrations of various Arts and Crafts.

This Course specialises on furniture placement and Mood Creation aspects for residential projects, it also gives a basic technical knowledge of professional part of interior design and decoration. It focuses mainly on the livability, planning and aesthetics that are involved in the process of designing.

It is a 3 years degree course affiliated to Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University with extensive study of interior designing. It covers designing of residential and commercial places along with other professional practice knowledge that is required to pursue this course. SOCIETY INTERIORS COMPETITION

Aditya College Of Design Studies is now a proud member of The European League Of Institute Of The Arts due to which all the certificate courses awarded to students confer pan european acceptance by Art & Design instititutions all over the world.

ELIA is the major multidisciplinary membership organisation for higher arts educa-tion institutions with about 250 members in 49 countries. Founded in 1990, the ELIA network represents some 300,000 students in all art disciplines.

It was an honour for students of ACDS, Mr Sairaj Yadav & Mr Chandan Prajapati, for bagging the 1stPRIZE in the ‘Product Designing’ category of Society Interiors Design Competition 2016 at National level.

Following suit, ACDS students Ms Kavya Salian & Mr Parth Shah bagged the 2nd PRIZE in the ‘Product Designing’ category of Society Interiors Design Competition 2017 at National level.

AWARDS &AFFILIATIONS

Corporate Interior Design by Ar. Alhad Gore- The students got to know the insights, right from pitching for the project, presentation for it, and site survey to delivering the project on time.

Design & development of portfolio by Ms Jayne Knowles, Associate Dean (UAL- University of the Arts, London) - Students got a very good exposure about how designing is perceived globally and what they can do to enhance their portfolio for higher studies. These international interactions help the students have a global connect.

Seminar on “WESTERN CITIES FOR LIFE” delivered by renowned Prof. Mads Gaardboe, Head of School, University of South Australia which was very insightful for the students and they got to learn a whole lot new things about spaces within the city and retrospect their own.

An interesting lecture on a very different yet fascinating topic of 'Laboratary Design' conducted by Ar. Archana Salil.

Seminar by Ar. Nilesh Kenkare on presentation of his work to inspire young minds of ACDS student

Lecture on "Concept Development in Interior Design"was conducted by Ar. Rachna Gupte.

Carpentry workshop conducted by Prof. Amrish Mangle where live demo was given to the students after which they made a few joineries with thermocal.

Rendering Workshop conducted by Ar. Anshul Sinha wherein different mediums were taught along with specific rendering for interiors.

Handling Clay workshop was conducted by Ms. Snigdha Katkar. Students in large numbers attended the workshop and participated very enthusiastically in creating various objects with clay.

The composite fees is applicable for the academic year i.e. from July to May.All payment/deposits of fees shall be made by demand draft/cheque only.The composite fees covers all of the teaching and other expenses such as library, examination, studio activities, co-curricular activities, sports etc. for the academic year.The composite fees does not include or cover field trips and excursions, extra subjects, learning support, week-end outings/trips, transportation, stationery, workshop tools, materials, extra tutorials, medical expenses etc.All fees payment should be made as included in the fees schedule. The institute reserves the right to revise/amend the fees schedule.Any revision in the fees structure, would be notified separately, from time to time.A tentative rise, not exceeding 15%, will be added to the composite fees every year.

In case of withdrawal, within a period of one month prior to the commencement of the course, an amount of Rs.10000/- shall be deducted as administrative charges and the rest of the amount shall be refunded to the student within 30 days from receiving of the application.In case of withdrawal, 15 days prior to commencement of the course, 25% of the composite fee will be deducted and the rest of the amount shall be refunded to the student within 30 days from receiving of the application.In case of withdrawal, after the commencement of the course, no refund will be made on any grounds.Students wishing to withdraw during the curriculum shall give a prior notice.In the event of withdrawal with/without notice, no fee shall be refunded and the security deposit shall be forfeited.

Every student admitting to the institute needs to pay a security deposit as per the rules laid down by the Management from time to time. This deposit is non-interest bearing and is refundable upon the student pass-ing out/leaving the institute.Any unpaid dues of the student shall be recovered from his/her security deposit.The security deposit shall be refunded within 60days of withdrawal/passing out of the student after adjusting unpaid dues, if any and on showing the fee receipt. This is done on clearance of prescribed “No Dues Certificate” from concerned departments. Producing “No Dues Certificate” is also mandatory for the award of Degree/Certificate.No request of refund shall be entertained after six months from the date of completion /leaving of the course.Legal disputers, if any, shall be settled only in courts under Mumbai jurisdiction.

POLICYADMISSION

The student should be punctual and regular in attendance and submissions.

Minimum attendance will be 75% or as stipulated by the university of the total working days to make the student eligible for the annual exams.

Every day lecture wise roll call of the student will be taken. Students are advised to occupy the class-rooms on time. Anyone being more than 10 minutes late will be marked absent for that particular session.

It will be students responsibility to get their assignments marked, signed and dated by the concerned professor.

The student should carry their ID cards at all times, without which entry to the college premises may not be permitted.

A fine of the Rs. 500/- shall be charged loss of library card/ID card.

Use of cell phones is prohibited in the classroom/studio/hall/Auditorium. The student in possession of the same, shall be liable to pay a fine of Rs. 500/-

The institute authorities are not responsible for loss or damage of student’s belongings. Hence, students are advised to take due care of their personal belongings.

Smoking and/or loitering in the classroom, corridors, and common passages during lecture time is strictly prohibited, no one is allowed to distribute or sell things like books, etc. or collect money for any purpose.

The College property shall be used carefully. Damage done to college property by any student will be penalised.

Aditya College of Design Studies will not be held responsible if any information/letter are not received by you due to incorrect/incomplete address provided.

The principal reserves the right to expel a student from any class, if found guilty of disorderly conduct.
