Our Mission

Help the children in greatest need to escape from the cycle of poverty and bring them the prospect of a brighter future through education.

Urgent need for schools, particularly in remote rural areas

Children from poorest families have to work

High drop-out rate at age 9-14

Educational Challenges

Government Schools can be too expensive and over-crowded.

No school for those without birth certificates or a residence permit.

Or for many disabled or hearing-impaired children

No school for those who have to work.

1) We Build New Schools

Old structures are often unsafe, cramped and inadequate

To build small primary schools and new kindergartens

To build or renovate restrooms and fences at schools

To build at least 15 new classrooms in 2012 and to repair existing schools built by SCC in the last five years

Therefore we continue

We visit every child at home to assess need

2) Scholarships

Children do not need to pass exams…they simply must be eager to learn.

We support 3,500 individual children with scholarships

Including all the notebooks, school books and pens they need

10kg of rice every month

New School Uniforms

Urgent Support if necessary – such as bicycles

Reading glasses Hearing aids

Vocational & Development Training

Training for a brighter future – in the service sector…

… or in hospitality.

Training means a chance to escape from poverty.

We will provide support to many more children in 2012
