    Table of ContentsDear Reader,

We have been proponents of foundational nutritional supplements for morethan 20 years. It was evident from the beginning that when individuals got the

basics right, then amazing health and healing could follow. We recommendevery person start with foundational supplements. We also refer to these basicsupplements as core or essential supplements.

Foundational supplements provide signi cant levels of essential vitamins, minerals, and cofactors. Many years of nutritional research has proven themnecessary for health. Basic nutrients must be obtained from external sourcesbecause the body cannot synthesize them. Ideally, the best external sourceof nutrients is the diet. Yet, foods available typically do not provide adequateamounts of essential nutrients.

For most of human history, dietary intake remained the only means to obtainnutrients. However, food sources adequate to provide essential nutrients weresubject to factors limiting availability, such as seasonal variation or droughts, lack of transportation, and economic factors. As a result, many people in thepast did not obtain nutritional support needed for good health.

Even today, most individuals do not meet nutritional needs through diet. Thisremains true even though we exercise considerable choice in our nutrientsources, and that knowledge exists to help us choose wisely. The failure toobtain basic nutrition results from lack of understanding (and misinformation)about nutrient sources supportive of health. It also relates directly to ourmodern food system that produces foods devoid of basic nutrients due tounsustainable agricultural practices and processing of foods.

It is unfortunate that most people do not obtain adequate levels of basicnutrients, especially given that nutrition pioneers (including Weston A. Price)long ago showed that inadequate dietary intake results in conditions of poorhealth and illness. Yet, these pioneers greatly contributed to our understandingof nutrition required for health. As a result, we have options when it comes tomaking wise choices that help us build health.

This booklet is a guide for selecting and using foundational supplements. It alsoexplains the degree to which nutrients provided by foundational supplementsare critically needed today. We include information about our foundationalsupplements. While the subject of basic nutrition is vast, we hope our bookletsteers you in the right direction, and helps orient you on the path towardoptimal health!

    Best of Health,

    WHY YOU NEED FOUNDATIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

Many people ask, Why do I neednutritional supplements? or How canI best obtain the nutrients I need? The answers to these questions areimportant because they can make a

signi cant difference for your health,quality-of-life, and vibrant living.

First, it is important to know that mostpeople wait until a health problemdevelops, then if they hear about asupplement (or substance) that mighthelp the problem, they take just that onesupplement to resolve it. Other peopleattempt to take many or all the supple-ments they think could be helpful, a

shotgun approach that de es commonsense. Unfortunately, these approachesalmost never solve the problem.

We suggest a different approach. Afterformulating highly effective supplements

for more than 20 years, and helpingthousands of customers create superiorlevels of health, we have experience withwhat works. In most cases, we rstrecommend taking four foundationalformulas. They are foundationalbecause they provide basic nutrientsrequired for good health. They representa starting point for improved nutrition. In fact, you can signi cantly improveyour health just by taking these supple-ments. After establishing foundationalnutrition, then consider adding speci ccondition supplement formulas thatmeet your needs.

We recommend four basic types offoundational supplements (sometimesreferred to essentials or core formu-las) representing the culmination of ourexperience with supplements needed forhealth. These four supplements include:1) a high-quality therapeutic multivita-min to provide high levels of the basicnutrients required for health, 2) essentialfats that the body needs to perform manycritical functions, 3) Vitamin C (with other

antioxidants, especially bio avonoids),which is required to sustain life, and 4)high-RNA superfoods, which supply criti-cally needed nucleic acids (i.e., dietaryRNA and DNA). There is less awarenessamong consumers about the bene ts ofdietary nucleic acids compared to otheressential nutrients, but they are highlyimportant for healing and health.

While we offer a very wide range ofsupplements, including many thatsupport speci c problems or conditions,we always recommend starting withfoundational supplements because takingthese four types of formulas helps build, support, and maintain the health of the

body. In fact, these four foundationalsupplements are a major element ofthe HPDI Master Rejuvenation Program, which is our complete program for healthand healing.

The reason that foundational supple-ments are needed is not a mystery. Thereis plenty of evidence supporting thebodys requirements for them. This isbecause during the past 70 years,

nutritional scientists deeply exploredfundamental questions about essentialnutrients the body needs to properlyfunction, as well as substances the bodyneeds from outside sources because itcannot synthesize them.

The current scienti cally accepted listof essential nutrients includes thirteenvitamins (see Table 1), more than twentyminerals, two essential fatty acids, nineessential amino acids, a source of calories(includes protein, carbohydrates, anfats), water, oxygen, and sunlight. Weadd to the list dietary nucleic acids (espe-cially RNA) based on the reasearch of Dr.-Benjamin S. Frank. Daily values (DVs)are established for most of these sub-stances, but represent only minimumamounts needed to avoid disease. Con-sequently, these values do not addressamounts needed for optimal health.

    THE FOUR ESSENTIALNUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

YOU NEED TO CREATEGREAT HEALTH NATURALLY!

Regarding optimal daily values, there is avast body of research on nutrients, whichin addition to our experience, providesinsights into what might be optimalamounts of nutrients for health.

It is no surprise that optimal valuesfor essential nutrients are nearly alwayssigni cantly higher than establisheddaily values. This is because minimalamounts of nutrients required for meresurvival cannot sustain vibrant health. In fact, daily values are probably betterdescribed as de ciency values becausethese amounts hover dangerously closeto actual de ciency levels (dependingon the individual) and most likelydescribe a state of subclinical de ciency(if not actual de ciency), wherebyactual de ciency symptoms aretemporarily masked.

    MAJOR REASONS ESSENTIALDIETARY SUPPLEMENTS

    ARE NECESSARY

Foundational nutritional supplements pro-vide important nutrients in amounts noteasily available in the diet. This relates tothe fact that our needs for nutrients havenever been greater. Our needs are great-er due to many factors, including dietshigh in nutrient-depleted and processedfoods (e.g., re ned carbohydrates), andlow in fresh vegetables and fruits. This

actually describes the so-called StandardAmerican Diet, or SAD, which has beenimplicated for its negative health effects.

Some reasons dietary supplements arenecessary include the facts that 1) mostcrops are grown in nutrient-de cient and/or depleted soils using methods of indus-trial agriculture that fail to replenishnutrients, and poison the soil (and there-fore foods) with toxic pesticides, herbi-cides, and chemical fertilizers, 2) foodprocessing methods damage, destroy,or remove many essential nutrients, 3)increased demands by the body due togreater needs for nutrients (relating tostress, pollution, greater needs fordetoxi cation, and other factors endemicto modern society), 4) biochemicalindividuality resulting in greater needsfor certain nutrients depending on theunique biochemistry (genetic pro le) ofan individual. Biochemical individualitymeans that someone may require manytimes the recommended US Daily Valuefor speci c nutrients. Consequently, oneperson may need hundreds of times theamount of a nutrient compared toanother persons requirement.

The availability of nutrients in foods canvary substantially due to season, geo-graphic factors, and growing methods.

All these factors add up to indicate thedif culty of ensuring optimal nutrientstatus without foundational supplements.Because the need for nutrients is greaterthan ever for most people, the needfor nutritional supplementation is alsogreater than ever. Nutritional supple-ments provide an effective (and costeffective) means to ensure the high levels

of nutrients required to build, sustain, and maintain optimal health.

A review of nutritional studies indicatesthat de ciencies of most nutrients amongindividuals range from 25%95% depend-ing on the nutrient (see Table 2, p. 7).Such major de ciencies are less surpris-ing given studies indicating that nutrientlosses from the processing of f oods rangefrom 20%95%, and average 70%80%(see Table 3, p. 8). In addition, minerallevels measured in plants grown in poorsoils (a result of inadequate agriculturalpractices) are as low as 5% of the min-eral levels measured in plants grown innutrient-rich soils.

Complicating this picture is the fact thatnutritional requirements change duringthe year due to environmental circum-stances. Changing seasons, environ-ments, air/water supply, etc. mean thatan individuals need for nutrients typicallychanges (e.g., more vitamin D neededin the winter, more nutrients needed tocope with pollution associated with urbanenvironments or stress, etc.). Nutrientdensity of foods also varies by locationand season.

nutrient rarely represents optimal intake, adverse effects can signi cantly increasewhen a broad range of nutrients is pres-ent only in suboptimal amounts (i.e.,when there exists a de ciency of optimalamounts of nutrients).

The function of the human body mightbe likened to an automobile factory. If afactory is designed to optimally produce100 vehicles per day, then the factorymust be supplied with at least minimumamounts of all essential raw materials to

make this happen. In this case, incorrectamounts of raw materials, for example,40 tires, 91 transmissions, 67 drivetrains, 13 exhaust pipes, etc. would neverallow optimal automobile production. Itbecomes evident that important relation-ships among parts must be honored forthe entire system to function properly.

Like an automobile factory, the humanbody needs proper amounts of critical

raw materials (i.e., basic nutrients) toperform optimally. However, the need toobtain appropriate materials in correct

    AMOUNTS FOR HEALTH

An important consideration (often over-looked because nutritional research typi-cally examines only one or two nutrientsat a time) is that hundreds of nutrientsact and interact in our bodies simultane-ously. Considering that the recommended(i.e., minimum) amount of a single

amounts is arguably more relevantfor the extremely complex human body.In this regard, scienti c studies onnutrients perform a disservice when theyfail to consider complex interactionsamong nutrients in the body requiredto support optimal function. Minimumlevels of nutrients can only lead tominimum health. Following the analogyof an auto factory, the body cannotcreate optimal health from insuf cientraw materials (nutrients).

In fact, we have an accurate pictureof what levels of nutrients supportoptimal body function. We are aidedin this knowledge by solid scienti cstudies. It is established that basicnutrients provided by foundationalsupplements confer immense bene tsfor health. Indeed, basic nutrients haveproven remarkably effective for improv-ing health, especially relative to theircost. Foundational nutritional supple-ments are far less costly than pharma-ceutical drugs or the medical proceduresused to treat health conditions relatedto nutrient de ciencies, which often canbe prevented by dietary supplements.

In addition, there is the fact that naturalnutrient substances exhibit extremelylow toxicity. Most vitamins, for example, demonstrate low toxicity (even at levelssigni cantly higher than of cial dailyvalues). The 2008 Annual Report of theAmerican Association of Poison ControlCenterss National Poison Data System(NPDS) published in Clinical Toxicology(47, 911-1084) indicates not a singlefatality caused by nutritional supplementsin the US that year. This underscores thesafety of vitamins, minerals, herbs, andamino acids. While this gure may seemremarkable considering that more thanhalf the US population takes daily nutri-tional supplements, it con rms the safetyof natural nutrient substances. Indeed, essential nutrients are safe and effectiveprecisely because they naturally worktogether within the body to create health.

Given the critical importance of essentialnutrients for health and their safety andeffectiveness, foundational supplementsare an ideal means to get optimal levelsof nutrients not readily available fromother sources. The fact that a majority ofindividuals are de cient in at least some

HPDIs foundational supplement for-mulas (also known as essentials or

core formulas) are four basic supple-ments (mentioned above) that establisha foundation for health by providing thenutrients needed to support overall goodhealth. In fact, these essentials providenutrients that are so fundamental to goodhealth that we sometimes refer to themas core nutrients to indicate the centralrole the play in creating, sustaining, andmaintaining health.

These foundational supplements arethe most important supplements andsuperfoods. Even if you take no otherdietary supplements, these four will bestensure you get basic nutrients requiredfor good health. They should be partof every nutritional supplementationprogram because of the foundationalnutrients they provide.

The four types of foundational supple-ments are multivitamins, essential fats,Vitamin C antioxidant formulas, and high-RNA REJUVENATE! superfoods. Takingall four types of foundational supple-ments provides the most complete nutri-tion. The best way to start is by selectingone of each of the four types and takingthem daily.

    1. MULTIVITAMINS. Select one or more

multivitamin supplements (from the listbelow). Capsules often are better ab-sorbed than tablets (especially if you areolder or have compromised digestion).Yet, tablets are more economical thancapsules, and may be more suitable forvegetarians/vegans.

A high-quality, high-potency multivitaminis the single most important supplementyou can take. A good multivitaminensures you receive important nutrientsnot always available in optimal amountsin foods. Taking a multivitamin helpsguarantee uptake of nutrients that arenot readily available because moderndiets have strayed far from traditionaldiets. In addition, modern lifestylescreate far greater demands for criticalnutrients even as many nutrients areincreasingly less available from foods.Multivitamins help break the cycle ofde ciency and degeneration.

Critical nutrients provided by a goodtherapeutic multivitamin formula includea wide range of essential vitamins, min-erals, and cofactors. Such a formula willusually include trace minerals, fat-solublevitamins (A, E, D, and K), coenzyme Bvitamins, magnesium, or other nutrientsknown to be de cient in the diets ofmost individuals.

Important factors to consider whenlooking for a good multivitamin, includehigh-potency, forms, completeness, balance, assimilability (e.g., ease ofuptake and rapid assimilation), easeof use (convenience), etc.

High-potency is important because formost nutrients, the so-called daily valueis simply inadequate for most people. Most individuals need many times thedaily value of vitamins for good health. This is because daily values areestablished based on minimum amountsrequired for sustain life (e.g., survival)rather than the optimal amounts needed

    for good health.

    4. REJUVENATE! HIGH-RNASUPERFOODS. Select one or more (fromthe list below). Each of our four Rejuve-nate! formulas is unique. All providehigh levels of nucleic acids (at least340 mg per serving), but offer varyingamounts of protein, vitamins/minerals,greens, and other nutrients.

Rejuvenate! superfoods represent arevolutionary means for increasing yourlevel of nutrition by leveraging the uniquepowers of dietary nucleic acids (e.g.,RNA, DNA) for greater health, healing, and longevity.

    FOUR FOUNDATIONAL SUPPLEMENTS EXPLAINED

As noted, studies of biochemicalindividuality show that individuals mayrequire many times greater amounts ofspeci c nutrients than are needed by theaverage person. Because most vitamins(especially water soluble ones) areessentially non-toxic even in relativelylarge doses (i.e., hundreds or sometimesthousands of times the daily value), itpays to provide your body with largeramounts of critical nutrients that it mayrequire because you may not be an

    average person.

Complicating this picture is the fact thatindividuals needs for speci c nutrientsvary widely. Thus, for example, onepersons need for vitamin C may besomewhat higher than average, yet thesame persons need for Vitamin D maybe signi cantly higher than average. Inaddition, the need for Vitamin C for anygiven individual can vary widely depend-ing upon the stresses (infections, tissuedamage, emotional stress) experiencedat any given time.

The proper forms of the nutrients are an-other critical factor. While forms have notalways been a prime consideration (eitherof consumers or formulators), they arecritically important. Forms are worthy ofattention because we know that the formof a vitamin or mineral can make a majordifference in terms of how it assimilatedand used in the body.

For example, Krebs cycle bionutrients(i.e., mineral carriers, such as citrates, malates, alpha-ketoglutarates, succinates,

or fumarates) are known to be superiorprecisely because they are the formsnaturally recognized and utilized in thebody. This is because these forms areused in the Krebs cycle (or citric acidcycle) that is part of the metabolic path-way used to generate energy (ATP) fromnutrients in foods. In contrast, elementalforms of minerals and/or forms that arenot part of the Krebs cycle may be moredif cult to assimilate because they mustbe converted into forms the body can use.The biological cost is reduced bio-availability, as well as cellular energyexpense and time required for metabolicconversion. As you can see, forms matterfor health!

Other important factors include complete-ness and balance. Completeness is impor-tant in a multivitamin because the bodyrequires a wide range of nutrients workingtogether to create and sustain health. Many multivitamins are neither completenor balanced. This relates partly to thefact that multivitamins are often not de-signed with an understanding of nutrients, forms, or amounts needed for health.Consequently, many commonly availablemultivitamins incorporate lesseffective forms, inadequate amounts, and improper ratios of nutrients.

This re ects a general lack of under-standing by formulators about hownutrients work together to build andsustain health. In contrast, supplementsare available that provide completenessand balance.

HPDI offers several high-quality, bal-anced, and complete multivitaminsproviding easily assimilated forms of nu-trients in optimal amounts. These includeHank & Brians Mighty Multi-Vite!, MultiTwo caps or tabs, and Mini Multi (100%free of excipients). We recommend ourcapsule formulas because they are theeasier to assimilate. However, our tablet

formulas are both effective and cost-effective. The Mini Multi capsule containsno additives and is designed especiallyfor chemically and environmentallysensitive individuals. In addition, chil-dren bene t greatly from a multivitamin, and for them we offer our chewable KidsMighty-Multi!.

HPDI ESSENTIAL #2: COMPLETE ESSENTIAL FATS

Many people understand the need to takesupplemental multivitamins. The need foressential fatty acids (EFAs) has gainedincreased attention recently, and it isno less important. More people areconsuming sh, sh oils, and vegetariansources of essential fats, including chiaseeds. However, the need for supple-menting diet with essential fats to ensureadequate daily intake has never been

There are two basic essential fats: alpha-linoleic acid (omega-3) and linolenic acid(omega-6). Other fats are sometimesincluded as being essential fats, includinggamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an importantomega-6 fatty acid, and eicosapentanoicacid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid(DHA), important omega-3 fatty acids.Although these other fats can be made inthe body from alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)and Linoleic acid (LA), it is much moreef cient to provide them directly.

Essential fats are considered essentialbecause they are needed for biologi-cal processes (i.e., they are required tosustain life) rather than acting only as afood-based source of energy (as do manyother non-essential fatty acids). Humans, therefore, must ingest essential fatty ac-ids both for survival and for good health.

Essential fats play multiple roles in thebody and serve many different functions. These functions include being modi edto make substances that affect pain andin ammation; regulating steroid produc-tion and hormone synthesis; regulatingpressure in the eyes, joints andblood vessels; mediating the immune

Every cell and organelle within the cellsare encased and protected by membranemade of phospholipids. A major compo-nent of these phospholipids are essentialfatty acids that control membrane uidity

and the ability to pass important nutri-ents into the cells and toxins out of thecells. Without adequate essential fatsthe cell membranes can become rigidand dysfunctional.

We offer several essential fats products, including Hank & Brians Essential Fats

Plus E and Omega Plus. Both of theseproducts contain EPA and DHA from highlypuri ed sh oils, GLA from cold-processedborage oil, and full spectrum VitaminE consisting of all eight natural formsof tocotrienols and tocopherols. Thesemixed forms of Vitamin E perform manybene cial functions in the body (such aslowering cholesterol and clearing plaqueout of blood vessels) and also protect theessential fats from oxidizing in the capsuleand in your body. The ratio of EPA to GLAin these products is 4:1, which based

upon research is considered the ideal ratiofor optimal effects in the body. EssentialFats Plus E also contains astaxanthin, acarotenoid, that is an extremely powerfulfat-soluble antioxidant.

The sh oils in our essential fatty acidsupplements are molecularly distilled forultra-high purity. Every batch of sh oilis tested to ensure freshness and guar-anteed to contain insigni cant levels ofheavy metals, PCBs, pesticides, and otherorganic chemical contaminants. These supplements do not contain hydro-genated oils, arti cial colors, or arti cialpreservatives.

HPDI ESSENTIAL #3:VITAMIN C WITH ANTIOXIDANTS

Vitamin C is legendary for its healingcapacities. Yet, it is notable that despitenumerous studies and accolades bynutritionists, it remains underutilized bymainstream medicine and is completelyunder-appreciated for the healing power-house it represents for human health.

Vitamin C is a foundational nutrientbecause of its important role in creatingand sustaining optimal health. Vitamin Cnot only is a potent antioxidant, but alsoa powerful immune builder/anti-viral,cholesterol controller, and connectivetissue builder and strengthener. In fact,no other vitamin or nutrient can take itsplace in terms of what it can contribute tohuman health, longevity, and well-being.

Ever since Linus Paulings Vitamin C andthe Common Cold , Vitamin C has held aplace of esteem among nutritional scien-tists and consumers of Vitamin C prod-ucts. Pauling went on to present furtherstudies and to write his bestseller Howto Live Longer and Feel Better . VitaminC plays a major role both in his discus-

sion of vitamins and in the supplementregimens he recommends.

In nature, Vitamin C is always combinedwith bio avonoids. Bio avonoids (suchas rutin, quercetin, catechins, anthocya-nidins, and oligomeric proanthocyani-dins (OPCs)), work synergistically withVitamin C to create powerful antioxidanteffects, counteract in ammation, andstrengthen connective tissues. In addi-tion, Vitamin C and bio avonoids combinewith other antioxidants (including gluta-thione, R-lipoic acid (R-LA), and sele-nium) in a process called redox cycling.

In this process, antioxidants protect and spare each other, thereby allowing forsigni cantly increased antioxidant protec-tion in the body.

We offer a variety of Vitamin C products, including formulas with bio avonoids. Our Vitamin C formulas include PRO-C,OPC-C, Buffered Vitamin C tabs, BufferedVitamin C powder, and Synergy C. Wetypically recommend taking a bufferedVitamin C product to prevent acidosis(as can happen with non-bufferedascorbic acid) and help maintain properpH levels in the body. Furthermore, webuffer our Vitamin C products using bothmagnesium and calcium becausemagnesium is often the master nutrientin the metabolism of calcium. OurVitamin C products include some of themost innovative formulas available.

PRO-C is our signature encapsulatedVitamin C antioxidant formula thatcotains 500 mg of buffered Vitamin C;grape extract (from seed, skin, andstem); green tea extract; NAC; reducedglutathione; R-lipoic acid; selenium, andother synergistic nutrients. It is best totake a formula like PRO-C that providessubstantial levels of antioxidants. Thisis because antioxidants make Vitamin Cmore effective (and vice versa) and thecombination of these nutrients moreeffectively quenches free radicals.

OPC-C contains 500 mg of buffered Cplus 25 mg grape seed, skin, and stemextract. This is another superb formulathat provides Vitamin C plus antioxidantsfrom grape extract (from seed, skin, andstem extract). OPC-C does not containgreen tea extract or as many antioxidantsas PRO-C, but it supplies both thera-peutic levels of Vitamin C plus substantialantioxidant protection.

Our buffered Vitamin C products(Buffered Vitamin C tabs and powder)provide a cost-effective means to obtaintherapeutic levels of Vitamin C. How-ever, taking buffered Vitamin C withoutadditional antioxidants does not providethe synergy afforded by bio avonoids,

REJUVENATE! superfoods are the mostrecent addition to HPDIs foundationalsupplements. Our development of high-RNA superfoods was inspired by the workof Dr. Benjamin S. Frank. After morethan twenty years of clinical research,Dr. Frank notably asserted in his bookNucleic Acid Nutrition and Therapy thatnucleic acids are essential nutrients of

human beings, as distinct from non-essential, accessory nutrients. He con-sidered nucleic acids and nucleotides anessential dietary category, i.e., as beingnutrients just as essential for humans asvitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohy-drates, and lipids.

Dr. Frank acknowledged the bodyscapacity to synthesize some nucleicacids, yet cited marked improvementsin degenerative conditions as theclearest evidence for nucleic acids asessential nutrients that must be obtainedfrom the diet or dietary supplements. Inparticular, he noted the health effectsresulting even from relatively smallintakes of nucleic acids (e.g., energizingeffects, anti-anoxia effects, rejuvenation, and greater vitality). Dr. Frank found hecould not obtain such improvements inhis subjects by increasing only the intakeof vitamins, minerals, proteins, or otheressential nutrients.

Dr. Frank was the rst scientist to con-clude that nucleic acids are essentialnutrients, as distinct from other micronu-trients. He wrote:[N]ucleic acids are anessential nutrient in our daily diets,and...optimal health and reduced agingare clearly related to their intake, more

than to any other nutrient. Nucleic acidsin our diets are of paramount importancefor the repairing of molecular and grosstissue degeneration, and for combatingthe process of aging by simple, effectiveand essentially non-toxic, natural means.

In addition, Dr. Frank describes the pro-cesses by which nucleic acids dramaticallyincrease cellular energy. Nucleic acidsboost energy levels by signi cantlyincreasing production of the high-energymolecule ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

The body requires the energy from ATPfor many purposes, including cellular andtissue repair, metabolism, digestion, building a strong immune system, andmany other processes.

Our observations and experiencecon rm Dr. Franks conclusion thatdietary nucleic acids are essential nutri-ents required for health. We developedour Rejuvenate! superfoods to providedietary nucleic acids in suf cient quantityto meet the bodys needs and supportoptimal health. We receive many lettersfrom our customers about the bene tstheyve received from using ourhigh-RNA Rejuvenate! superfoods.

    All four Rejuvenate! superfoods

contain at least 340 mg of RNA/DNA(per serving) from a variety of vegetablesources.Including chlorella, nutritionalyeast, yeast RNA/DNA extracts, spirulina, and chlorella growthfactor. In addition, they all provide nutrients such as vitaminB12, folinic acid, magnesium, and vitaminC that support the body in its effortsto internally build nucleic acids. Further-more, they all contain superfoods thatprovide additional key nutrients andhelp to optimize metabolism andhealth. In order to determine whichREJUVENATE! Superfoods maybebest for you, please visit our website,or call us.

REJUVENATE! PLUS and REJUVENATE!Berries & Herbs are the most popular,best-tasting, and most nutritionally com-plete. They offer high levels of protein,a complete multivitamin, some essentialfats, ber, and antioxidants.

REJUVENATE! Berries & Herbs containsno greens and is known for its deliciousberry avor.

REJUVENATE! PLUS is our sweetgreens formula combining great taste,

superior nutrition, and fewer greensthan our original formula. This adds upto delicious avor, smooth texture, andreduced rates of detoxi cation (comparedto original REJUVENATE!).

REJUVENATE! (original greens) isespecially useful for rapid detoxi ca-tion (because it contains the highestlevels of chlorella), and does not containadded protein or a multivitamin complex.REJUVENATE! PRO is similar to originalgreens (as it contains chlorella andspirulina), yet delivers superb berrytaste plus added protein, antioxidants, and B vitamins.

supplements combined delivers far morehealth-building nutrition than any singlefoundational formula delivers individu-ally. Thats synergy in action. The means by which all four types offoundational supplements succeed increating and contributing to power-ful health relates less to the fact thateach singly provides an essential pieceof the nutrition puzzle. Success relatesinstead to the fact that when all founda-tional formulas are taken together, theirhealthy bene ts multiply and greatlyexceed the bene ts provided by indi-vidual formulas. This is a primary reasonwe emphasize foundational nutritionalsupplements as a starting place for thecreation of optimal health.

FOUR FOUNDATIONAL SUPPLEMENTS =POWERFUL SYNERGY FOR HEALTH

We consistently nd that one of great-est means for success in creating healthusing dietary supplements is to ensureyou take all four types of foundationalformulas. For example, many people takeone or two foundational supplements, for example, a multivitamin, essentialfats, or Vitamin C plus bio avonoids. Butfew people take all of them daily. When

you take all four types of the founda-tional supplements daily (including aRejuvenate! superfood), the results willspeak for themselves. This is because ourfoundational supplements work togethersynergistically to leverage each other inways that far exceed the effects that maybe expected when taken individually oras less than a complete group.

The best news with respect to dietarynucleic acids (especially RNA) is thatwhile they are essential nutrients, theirinclusion in our foundational supple-ment program powerfully leverages theireffects by facilitating greater synergyamong all nutrients available to the bodyvia foundational supplements. This syn-ergy means the total package of nutrientsdelivered by all four types of foundational

Foundational SupplementsFoundational supplements provide signi cant levelsof essential nutrients. Table 4 compares levels of 35nutrients provided in the Foundational Program tothe Daily Value (DV).

HPDIs most commonly used foundational supple-ments are selected for this comparison. Nutrientvalues are based on a daily serving. A daily servingis 4 capsules of Mighty Multi-Vite!, 3 capsules of

    PRO-C, 6 capsules of Omega Plus, and 2 scoops ofRejuvenate! Berries & Herbs (B & H).

In this comparison chart, we add the nutrients (forwhich there is a Daily Value) in all four foundationalsupplements to determine Total in Program. The

nal column indicates the ratio of Total in Programto DV.

Explanatory Notes 1. When values are not available, they are

    denoted as NA.

    2. Daily Values are not established for omega-3and omega-6 essential fats. We use AdequateIntake (AI) gures established by the Foodsand Nutrition Board of the National Academy

    of Sciences.

    3. Nutrients with a low Program Ratio (or listed as NA) must be obtained from the diet. Thesenutrients include total fat, protein, ber, essentialfats, and macrominerals.

    4. Ratio to DV varies by nutrient. Desirable ratiosfor trace minerals range from 1 to 5, water-soluble vitamins range from 10 to 75, andfat-soluble vitamins range from 2 to 10.

    5. There are other important nutrients in theFoundational Program for which a DV is notestablished. These include bio avonoids, antioxidants, RNA, herbs, and other nutrients.

Q: How much do I need to take of eachfoundational supplement? How often?

A: For Vitamin C, take at least 2 grams, but preferably 4 grams or more per day.Individuals vary in their daily require-ments for Vitamin C. Dr. Linus Paulingsuggests you take between 6 grams and18 grams per day.

    Dosage amounts and frequencies are

listed on the labels of each foundationalsupplement. In general, adult dosagesvary somewhat depending on the sizeand/or weight of the individual. Chil-drens dosages can be substantiallylower, depending on the nutrient. Nota-bly, our Chewable Kids Mighty-Multi! isdesigned for a dose of two tablets per 10pounds of body weight. It also is suitablefor adults who prefer chewable vitamins. We recommend a maximum of ten perday for adults.

Q: Can I obtain all nutrients I need fromfoundational supplements?

A: Most vitamins, minerals, and essen-tial fats can be obtained from founda-tional supplements. However, nutrientsthat must be obtained separately include

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS a source of calories (including protein, carbohydrates, and some fats), water, oxygen, sunlight, and certainmacrominerals.

Q: I already take three foundationalsupplements, including a multivitamin, essential fats, and Vitamin C withantioxidants. What additional bene tscan I gain from a high-RNA superfoodlike REJUVENATE!?

    A: We recommend high-RNA superfoods

as foundational supplements becausenucleic acids provide numerous bene tsnot offered by vitamins, minerals, es-sential fats, or antioxidants. Nucleic acidsfacilitate rapid healing, energy (ATP) pro-duction, detoxi cation, metabolism, andoverall rejuvenation in the body.REJUVENATE! superfoods not onlyprovide nucleic acids, but also many nu-trients that optimize their utilization andboost nutrition. The inclusion of theseother nutrients makes them functionalfoods that are nutritionally complete. In addition, nucleic acids and support-ing nutrients signi cantly enhance thenutrition provided by other foundationalsupplements. REJUVENATE! super-foods thereby work together with otherfoundational supplements to create andmaintain optimal health.
