ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT),

Coimbatore is a private engineering college started

in 1984 under the auspices of Ramanandha

Adigalar. Currently the college offers 13 under-

graduate (B.E., B.Tech.) and 14 post-graduate

(M.E., M.Tech., MCA, MBA) programmes as an

Autonomous Institution affiliated to Anna

University Chennai. The college has the approval of

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

and accredited by National Assessment &

Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Board

of Accreditation (NBA) and also has ISO

9001:2000 certification.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Computer Science and Informatics" was established in the year 1987 with a

B.E. program. In 1992, the name of the department

was changed to "Computer Science and

Engineering". Since its inception, the department

has progressed with a vision and a strong

commitment to developing competent programs,

uncompromising standards of excellence providing

state of the art computing facilities and training to

students.

ABOUT KCT LINUX USERS GROUP (KLUG)

LUG@KCT strives to promote Linux, Free

Software, Open standards and to generally hosting

events that educate, allow members to share ideas,

experience and knowledge. It also gives exposure

on Open Source Software through Spoken Tutorials

developed by IIT Bombay.

ABOUT FOSSEM15 The FOSS Enthusiasts Meet 2015 is the first event

of its kind in Coimbatore that brings together

students, fresh graduates, young professionals and

start-up companies that are interested in FOSS-

based tools and technologies, for the purpose of

acquiring information, skills and competencies. The

event is supported by KCT Linux Users Group,

Coimbatore..

FOSS Project Contest and Paper Presentation

(Day 4- 06.02.2015)

Teams of students and young professionals are invited to participate in the Paper Presentation

on various topics related to Open Source

Software / Hardware, and also in Emerging

trends in the field of computer science.

(Papers to be sent in IEEE Format)

The contest for Open Source Software/Hardware Projects is open to all and

the following are the terms & conditions for

submitting projects for this contest:

1. Projects can be submitted by teams of 1-4

participants on any topic.

2. Projects should be built entirely with Open

Source Software/Hardware, or should have a

significant Open Source Hardware

component.

3. Teams are required to bring their completed

project equipment to KCT.

4. Final selection of the prize-winning projects

will be made on the date fixed in February.

Prizes will be distributed on the same day.

5. Teams are required to register their projects

in order to participate in the contest.

Paper Presentation -Rs.500/-

* No Registration Fee for Guest Lecture.
