Sub: Regulation 30 Update- EWS Order Dear Sir(s), This is in continuation to the letters Ref. No. FHL/SEC/STEX/RR/2018-19 dated June 10, 2016, August
2, 2016 and May 29, 2018, whereby the Company had informed that one of our subsidiaries viz. Escort
Heart Institute & Research Centre Limited (EHIRCL) had received an order dated 28.5.2018 from the
Office of the Special Committee directing it to deposit an amount of Rs. 503, 36, 52, 824/- (Rupees
Five Hundred & Three Crores, Thirty Six Lac Fifty- Two Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Four only)
in the account of the Delhi Government, in favour of Director General of Health Services, within month
of receiving the said order.
It is hereby informed that a writ petition was filed by EHIRCL before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi
challenging the aforesaid order. Today, the Hon’ble High Court has stayed the order passed by the
Special Committee, subject to deposit of Rs. 5 Crore within 3 weeks and has directed that no coercive
action shall be taken against EHIRCL till the next date of hearing i.e. December 6, 2018. Further, the
court has also ordered the Special Committee to provide details of the rationale and calculation of
their alleged demand.

“This is with reference to recent news reports that Fortis Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre (EHIRCL) has received an order dated June 9, 2016, from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the recovery of Rs. 503, 36, 52, 824/- on account of unwarranted profit allegedly made by it by not complying with the conditions of allotment letter/lease deed of Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which had granted the land to the hospital on the condition that it would provide free treatment to 25 per cent of its patients. A writ petition was filed by EHIRCL before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi challenging the aforesaid order. As a result today, the Hon’ble High Court has stayed the order passed by the Special Committee, subject to deposit of Rs. 5 Crore within 3 weeks and has directed that no coercive action shall be taken against EHIRCL till the next date of hearing i.e. December 6, 2018. Further, the court has also ordered the Special Committee to provide details of the rationale and calculation of their alleged demand.
