Ku Klux Klan: Forrest is named after a big Ku Klux Clan leader so there also is a bitracism in Forrest’s family.

It was an organization first founded (started) in the South of the United States after theAmerican Civil War to protest against the new government.

The Klan was scared that the population in the South could lose their democratic rights.

The Klan members believed that African Americans were inferior to white people.

The KKK tried to deny their human rights by burning crosses or threateningblack people.

If people did not react, the Klan killed them.

The KKK was prohibited in 1871. After 1871 many KKK members were imprisoned.

• Civil Rights (mixed races schools):The African-American Civil Rights Movement (1955–1968) refers to the reform movements in the United States aimed at abolishing racial discrimination against African Americans and restoring suffrage in Southern states.

• Viet Nam War: occurred in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from 1959 to April 30, 1975.

• The war was fought between the communist North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other member nations of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO).

• The assassination of J.F. Kennedy: John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), was the 35th President of the United States, from 1961 until his assassination in 1963.

Anti-war demonstration against Vietnam
