Regulations (Flags)• Checkered flag: Indicates the conclusion of the race or qualification

session.

• Red flag: Indicates that the race or qualification session must stop because of an accident or for meteorological reasons.

• Yellow flag: Indicates that there is danger on the track (in an edge of it, and completely or partially blocking it).

• Yellow flag and Safety Car signal: The safety car is intervening the track, which means that the drivers must slow down and evade overtakings.

• Black flag: Indicates that a driver has been disqualified from the race.

• Black and white flag: Indicated when a driver performs a dangerous maneuver, when repeated, the driver receives the black flag

Regulations (Penalties)• Drive through penalty: Requires the driver to enter the pit lane, and drive

through it obeying its speed without making a stop. Are imposed for minor offences.

• Ten second penalty: The driver must enter the pit lane and stop there for ten seconds. Imposed for more serious offences.

• A more extreme penalty may be imposed because of more severe infractions; adding ten places to the driver´s grid position

• The black flag is one of the most severe penalties that may be imposed, this means that the driver is disqualified of the race, and that the results from that race don´t count for the drivers championship. If the black flag is not considered sufficient, then the penalty of being excluded of a number of races may be imposed.

• The most severe penalty of all, which is imposed only when a driver´s life is threatened, is to be excluded for that year´s World Drivers Championship.
