FMG Team Drivers, Paul Solomon (V7) and Chris Solomon (V83) made the trip to Moama Speedway on the 3rd of November to compete in the first round of the Eureka Sprintcar Series for 2012/13

It proved to be a very eventful night with Paul having to pull out of the B Main due to a major fuel leak and Chris Solomon not making it through the first heat after flipping his #83 Ea-gle up against the safety fence.

The team arrived at the track early in the afternoon and was greeted to an already large number of sprintcars in

the pits which seemed to just keep on growing throughout the afternoon. Most pleasing was the large number of new competitors to sprintcar racing, many of which had extensive experi-ence in other classes of speedway.

The team thought that the cars maybe at a disadvantage due to not having 410 engines on the night however Paul with the 372 power plant and Chris with the ASCS 360 engine seemed to be able to run mid field and be com-petitive throughout the night.

Heat 2: Paul started out of position 6 and finished in position 4 with a best

    CHRIS SOLOMON #V83

lap time of 14.8 seconds, then in heat 5, Paul started out of position 1 and ended in 4th position. This put him out of position 1 in the B main. Unfortu-nately the car developed a fuel leak and Paul had to pull in after only 4 laps of the race.

Chris (V83) on the other hand only got a few laps in his first heat when he hooked a rut and flipped over into the concrete wall. The car was wrecked . Chris was OK other than suf-fering some discomfort resulting from the sub-marine belt.

AVALON 10th November 2012.Paul Solomon in the #7 eagle came away from the Avalon meeting with re-spectable finishes in his two heat races, however in the C Main he stripped a crown wheel and pinion in the differential, which ended his night.

Solomon To Drive The Smith Bros CarSmith Brothers Motorsport announced today the driver for the upcoming races on there schedule until Christmas is no other than Current Victorian 360 champion Chris Solomon. SBM welcome Chris to the SBM Family and hope to be able to give him all the tools he needs to produce some hard fought po-diums in the coming months .

Chris tested for SBM prior to the season and to say we were impressed is an understate-ment, Chris did all of what was asked of him on the day and was able to communicate what the new GF-1 chassis was doing and where on the track .

Both Mark and Jason had put a fair bit of re-search into what to expect from the new car prior to its delivery .

They knew it was a fairly different chassis from the 2011 so it was always a bit of an unknown but from the minute it rolled on the track it did exactly what we thought and we were able to combat changes as we needed and the car responded.

We were pleased to have Brett Milburn jump into the car at the 10K at Avalon for a test hit out where we were able to identify a few is-sues changing our motor program com-pletely which now sees us to have 3 fresh motors to hopefully eliminate any further is-sues we previously may have had.SBM are excited to have Chris on board and look forward to see what he can do with the V#60 starting this week at Avalon with some 50 cars entered we just cant wait .
