Executive SummaryAccording to the curriculum of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) described by Pakistan

Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), every student has to spend his/her last semester for an

internship. For this purpose, I spend my last semester for the internship in Engro Foods Ltd

Area Office Ranipur from 02 Jan, 2014 to 31 March, 2014.In Engro Foods MPAS, I worked as

intern agri services officer. I provided the dairy farmers with agri services. These services

included vaccination, deworming, surf field test, wanda, Molasses and silage provision, ensiling

techniques and dairy farm consultancy. I visited the MCC (Milk Collection Center). The tasks

assigned to me were to increase the SNF %age of Model Village MCC, survey the Model

Villages, calculation of milk producing animals and their production values in villages located in

rani pur area , calculation the milk cost/kg at different villages, to convince the farmers to adopt

Modern Dairy Farm Practices, dairy farmers meeting about awareness of molasses and farmers

meeting about how to increase the milk production via adoption of Best Dairy Farming Practices

and also conduct medical camps in locality. The most important and advance practice is EMAN

(Engro Milk Automation Network) fully automatic networking system for milk transactions,

receiving, dispatch, engineering & agri(vets) alerts and employees attendance for this pos (point

of sale) machines are used which are operated with telenor sim and all the data automatically

shifted to the sahiwal plant, its very effective fast and modern system.

I had worked on improvement of SNF% on different MCC,s .Due to sampling of Direct Farmer

milk the SNF% improved.

2) Conduction of the Survey of Model Villages

Page 14: Formatted report

P a g e | 14

I conducted the survey of model villages. In the survey, I collect the data from the farmers like

no. of land in acre, fodder cultivation in acre, total no. of animals, milking animals, volume of

milk, supply, vaccination, deworming and artificial insemination records etc.

Survey of Model Villages

3) Conduction of dairy farmer’s awareness meeting about Molasses

I with Dr. Ubaid ullah, convinced the dairy farmer community to use Molasses as a source of

high energy and palatability in animals and increase interest of animals towards proper feed

consumption.

Molasses is a good source of carbohydrates and energy as compared to other feed ingredient. It

has good palatability and digestibility.

It is economical and our company will ensure its supply at farmer’s doorstep.

It efficiently aids in the continuity of health cycle with respect to age.

Successful results in consumption of more wheat straw having higher values of dry matter

percentage.

Comparatively keeping in view it’s all necessary aspects, it will do shift farmer’s business

towards profitability. Conduction of farmer meetings about common animal practices I had

conducted farmer meetings in different villages about the health of animals, livestock

management common issues in animal rearing practices and other precautionary measures.

Performed Silage practice In Musadiq Khan Jatoi Farm

EMAN ( Engro Milk Automation Network)

Eman is very modern, advance, fast and very effective computerized networking adopted by

engro in milk procurement & agri Services department of Engro foods. Automatic pos machines

are used for this purpose on milk collection centers different categories of milk suppliers like

DF (direct farmer) PF (progressive farmer) VMC (village milk collection) CDF (commercial

dairy farmer) CVMC (chiller village milk collection) DD (dhoodi) they have different colures of

issued magnetic swipe cards which when swipe along pos machine milk data entered and MR

milk receipt generated and record of transactions automatically transferred to concerned

departments all employees attendance and most important engineering and agri services alerts

automatically generated on the request of farmers and MCCI (milk collection center incharge)

which then further transfer to the concerned departments and on time issues and problems are

resolved without wasting time.

PHE (Plate Heat Exchanger)

Modern, fast, advance and compactable milk cooling Machine in less time very rapidly more

milk volume of milk chilled. Cooled brine water is used for this purpose passing through parallel

vertical plates along with milk. In area office Rani Pur installed PHE Machine has 10000 litter

per hour cooling capacity.
