Social control refers generally to society and
political mechanism or process that regulate
individual and group behavior in an attemp to
gain conformity and compliance to the rules of a given society, state, or social group.
Internalization of norms and values by a process known as socialization w/c is defined as ‘the process by w/c individual, born w/behavioral potentialities of
enormously wide range, is led to develop actual behavior w/c is acceptable for him by the group
standards.
External sanctions enforced by government to prevent the
establishment of chaos or anomie in society.
