Bamboo Development Plan in China
To guide and regulate the China’s bamboo
sustainable development, SFA of China approved
the Bamboo Development Plan in China ( 2013-
2020 ) in 2013.
Goals
By 2015: the total value of bamboo forests out-put in China is expected to reach $32 billion, increasing 66.5% from that in 2011.
By 2020, the total value of bamboo forests out-put reaches $48 billion with 10 million directly-involved labors in bamboo industries, and the rural households’ incomes from bamboo industries in those bamboo regions is expected to be $330 per person, counting to 20% of the net income per person in rural areas.
