Force.com Migration Tool/Ant Tool

Force.com Migration Tool• Java/Ant-based command-line utility for moving metadata

between a local directory and a Salesforce org.

• Repetitive deployment using the same parameters.

• Scheduling batch deployments—You can schedule a deployment for midnight to not disrupt users. 

• Uses Metadata API to retrieve or deploy components.

• Can deploy between any 2 Salesforce Orgs

Prerequisites

• Latest version of Java Download : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

• AntDownload : http://ant.apache.org/bindownload.cgi

If you are using a Windows operation system, create an ANT_HOME environment variable and set the value to where you have installed Ant.

Also create a JAVA_HOME environment variable and set the value to the location of your JDK.
