CORN Input TraitsCORN output traitsRupp hybrids marked with the “Dual Purpose” logo signify hybrids that are high yielding when producing grain or silage giving growers options when marketing their crop.

Conventional Corn

We offer a strong and di-verse lineup of conventional hybrids. For growers who require conventional hy-brids for a specific market, including non-GMO feed, we offer the following hybrid seed that has been produced under strict standards and is tested to contain less than 1% GMO seed:xr A92-14 // xr A94-16 // xr A99-20 // xr A00-21 xr A02-20 // xr A03-91 // xr A06-06 // xr A08-44 xr A09-05

You’ll find an animal icon (cattle, pig, chicken) in the hybrid comparison charts marking the hybrids that are especially suited for non-GMO feed. Take advan-tage of these unique opportunities by clearly identi-fying the end use market when placing your order. If you have special grain marketing outlets, please make that known when ordering to assure we supply the appropriate hybrid seed.

GRAINSILAGE

DUALPURPOSE

The Agrisure Viptera® 3220A E-Z Refuge® trait stack com-bines the benefits of a hybrid that maximizes yield when it rains and increases yield when it doesn’t, with an integrated refuge and dual modes of action against above-ground corn insects, including corn borer, to reduce mold and mycotoxin contamination by limiting insect feeding damage, to protect the quality of grain. It is ideal for areas where rootworm management is not a key focus.

The Agrisure Viptera® 3220 E-Z Refuge® trait stack offers corn growers multiple modes of action against ear-feeding insects, including corn borer, with a 5 percent, integrated, single-bag refuge. It is ideal for areas where rootworm management is not a key focus.

The Agrisure® 3120 E-Z Refuge® trait stack offers the convenience of an integrated refuge product featuring two modes of action against corn borer, as well as better control of ear-feeding corn insects.

Corn hybrids with the Agri-sure® GT trait provide excel-lent tolerance to in-crop ap-plications of glyphosate-based herbicides.

The Agrisure Artesian® GTA trait stack combines a hybrid that optimizes the conversion of water to grain and provides improved yield consistency with tolerance to in-crop ap-plications of glyphosate-based herbicides.

SmartStax® RIB Complete® Corn Blend (SSRIB) is the first single-bag refuge solution and is the #1 Choice of farmers. It’s refuge made easy. Just pull the tab, open the bag and that’s it. SSRIB contains 95/5 corn blend and above and below ground protection with TWO ways to control corn root-worm for full season protec-tion. A great choice for corn-on-corn acres and heavy corn rootworm pressure fields.

Completing the Genuity® refuge-in-a-bag product family, Genuity® VT Triple PRO® RIB Complete® Corn Blend (GENVT3RIB) offers the opportunity for high yield protection in a simple, conve-nient refuge-in-a-bag solution in the Corn-Growing Area. GENVT3RIB contains a 90/10 blend with a single mode of action for corn rootworm con-trol plus dual modes of action for above-ground protection.

VT Double PRO® RIB Com-plete® Corn Blend (VT2PRIB) provides above ground pro-tection only, containing a 95/5 corn blend and TWO ways to control corn earworm. A great choice for fields without corn rootworm pressure. With VT2PRIB growers get high yield protection in a simple, convenient refuge-in-a-bag-solution.

Hydroefficiency. During chal-lenging drought conditions, DroughtGard® Hybrids adapt to drought stress, conserve water and use it efficiently until the next rain. The result is a potential for greater yield. Plant DroughtGard Hybrids to do more with less water.

Roundup Ready® Corn 2 fits how you farm. Engineered to work with Roundup® agri-cultural herbicides, Round-up Ready Corn 2 enables broad-spectrum weed control, outstanding crop safety and more flexibility when used in the Roundup Ready System.

The LibertyLink® trait with Liberty® herbicide enables growers to effectively avoid or manage weed resistance as the only nonselective alter-native to glyphosate-tolerant systems. LibertyLink hybrids combine high-yielding genet-ics with excellent crop safety from built-in tolerance to the powerful, postemergence weed control of Liberty. A wide selection of LibertyLink hybrids are available, includ-ing all, SmartStax® hybrids and Agrisure® hybrids with corn borer protection that are not E-Z Refuge®. Liberty herbicide applied over the top of LibertyLink corn hybrids provides powerful control of broadleaf and grass weeds, including weeds resistant to glyphosate and multiple herbicide classes.

Acceleron® Seed Treatment System helps maximize the performance potential of your seed and traits right from the start. Designed to complement new seed and trait products, Acceleron can improve stands and plant health to help maximize the performance potential of your crop.

Poncho® 500/VOTiVO® seed treatment protects young plants from pests during critical early development stages, leading to healthier roots and stronger stands. Applied directly to the seed, Poncho 500/VOTiVO pro-tects the whole plant, above and below ground, prevent-ing damage to early-season seedlings and roots before pests can strike.

CruiserMaxx® Corn 250 insecticide/fungicide seed treatment, a combination of separately registered prod-ucts, offers broad-spectrum protection against early-sea-son insects, and seedborne and soilborne disease.

CruiserMaxx® Corn 1250 insecticide/fungicide seed treatment, a combination of separately registered prod-ucts, offers broad-spectrum protection against early-sea-son insects including corn rootworm, and seedborne and soilborne disease.

TreatmentsMaximize your yield potential by protecting corn plants in their early stages of growth, through the use of seed applied fungicides and insecticides.

SOYBEAN Input TraitsPopulations continue to grow. Farmland and the number of farmers continue to shrink. So every acre of land – including yours – needs to produce the highest yields possible.Rupp Seeds helps you make that happen. We’re dedicated every day to evaluate, grow, test and select the highest-performing varieties for your farm. Our soybean varieties consistently place at or near the top in state and independent trials. More importantly, their performance routinely exceeds the expectations of farmers throughout the tri-state area.

Whether you use a Roundup®, LibertyLink® or conventional program or a combination of the three, we have top performing soybean varieties that will fit the way you farm.

Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® Soybeans (GENRR2Y) system provides the power to produce more. More beans per pod, means more bushels per acre, which results in more profit potential for farmers

Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® Soybeans contain the Genu-ity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® trait technology stacked with a trait that contains tolerance to dicamba. This Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait technology offers farmers the highest yield opportunity with more beans per pod and more bushels per acre. Roundup Ready 2 Xtend™ soybeans, once approved, will be the industry’s first biotech product with toler-ance to both glyphosate and dicamba herbicides.

LibertyLink® soybeans with Liberty® herbicide provides the most reliable solution for weed management. LibertyLink soybean varieties combine elite genetics and excellent crop safety with built-in tolerance to the powerful, postemergence weed control of Liberty.

TreatmentsProtect soybean plants in their early stages of growth with the use of seed-applied fungicides and insec-ticides, and boost your yields with the addition of Excalibre inoculant.

ApronMaxx® Beans is an on-seed application of separately registered products that combines two fungicides to protect against all major seedborne and soilborne diseases.

CruiserMaxx® Beans seed treatment, a combination of separately registered products, combines three active ingredients to protect against a broad spectrum of damaging above- and below-ground insects, as well as all major seedborne and soilborne diseases. Cruis-erMaxx Beans is backed by extensive testing, use and proven performance over the last 10 years, on more than 80 million soybean acres and across environments.

Excalibre offers a conve-nient way to increase yields by using inoculant that is pre-applied to the seed. It is unique from other inoc-ulants because it offers an extra-long planting window and its compatible with seed treatments commonly applied by seed companies. And it still provides all the yield benefits of America’s Best inoculant products.

BENEFITS OF PURCHASING NEW SEED

In the competitive agriculture marketplace, reducing costs can be a key factor in earning a profit. However, the “advantages” of reducing seed costs by planting saved seed are not advan-tageous. Bin-run planting rates are generally 15% higher than new certified seed. Studies have shown that planting bin-run Roundup Ready® soybeans as opposed to planting new Genu-ity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybean seed will reduce your yields, by 6.1 bushels per acre, and your income at harvest. By planting professionally produced seed from Rupp each year, you are guaranteed to be putting the highest quality seed into your fields.

Our production cycle begins with our team of growers planting the highest quality seed stock. Throughout the growing season our fields are inspected to ensure genetic purity, and additional care in handling is taken at harvest to reduce stress on the seed.

After harvest, the seed goes through a cleaning and sizing pro-cess to achieve uniformity and is treated with fungicides and insecticides to provide better stand and plant health. Finally, each seed lot is tested for germination and vigor to ensure opti-mum performance in your fields.

Our service isn’t limited to only providing high quality seed. Our seed professionals will help you select the right products and technology for your farm and farming practices, and will help you understand the warranty benefits offered by our tech-nology partners, such as Roundup Ready Plus®, that help you manage risks in your crop production.

We’re there to help you for the full season, from planning to harvest. Our goal, along with our seed technology partners, is to help you achieve success. Through your investment in technology enhanced seed, research and development of new traits and higher yielding germplasm can continue to take place. When outstanding genetics are combined with superior processing and seed treatments, you will see consistent, high performance with our products in your fields.

TREATMENT ON RUPP ALFALFA

The key to quality alfalfa is a achieving a uniform weed free stand. Selecting disease resis-tant varieties and protecting the seedlings are critical in achieving this goal.

All of our alfalfa is treated with ApronXL® a seed treat-ment specifically for protec-tion against systemic downy mildews and diseases caused by soil-borne Pythium and Phytophthora spp.

10 TIPS TO TOP ALFALFA TONNAGESelect a field with good drainage and free of weeds. Weed control should be done prior to stand establishment.

Lime your fields 6 months to a year prior to seeding. Soil pH should be 6.8 to 7.5.

Soil test. Phosphorous levels should be 70-80 lbs., Potassium 400-500 lbs., Boron 3 lbs. and Sulfur 40 lbs.

Prepare a firm seedbed. Firm seed to soil contact is necessary for maximum emergence.

Choose an alfalfa with the genetic background to repay you for your extra efforts.

Plant alfalfa seeds ¼”-½” deep. Seed 18-20 lbs. per acre with direct seeding, 15-18 lbs. per acre with a nurse crop. Monitor insects. Alfalfa weevil during the first crop and Potato Leaf Hopper during the second through fourth crop. Adjust cutting schedules or spray as needed.

Fight diseases with broad disease resistance base

Harvest forage at late bud stage for maximum forage yield and quality. Do not harvest from September 1 through October 15 to allow root carbohydrates to replenish themselves.

Maintain fertility. Top dress after 1st and 3rd cuttings. Each ton of forage removes 12 lbs. of Phosphorus, 50 lbs. of Potassium, 0.4 lbs. of Boron and 6 lbs. of Sulfur.

TRICAL® 815PVP

Trical 815 Winter Triticale is a high quality dairy silage. It is an excellent source of digestible fiber that is vital for the health and productivity of dairy cows. Trical 815 has good winter hardiness and dense leafy growth. Trical 815 is early maturing which makes it ideal in double crop situations.

Expected Nutritional Benefit

Lignin 2.75%IVDMD 76-84%

Nutritional benefits will vary with harvest dates.

TRICAL® 815PVP MANAGEMENT PRACTICESSEEDINGTrical 815 is a fall seeded variety of triticale.

Consult your Rupp sales representative about planting dates in your area. Timely seeding increases forage yield and reduces the risk of winter injury.

Before seeding - soil testing is recommended to determine fertilization needs.

Prepare a smooth, even seedbed. Or, Trical 815 can also be suc-cessfully no-till seeded after summer crops (soybeans, sorghum, etc.).

Accurate seeding is vital. Seed 100 to 120 lbs. per acre with a grain drill at a depth of 1½ inches. Use a drill setting approx-imately 10% higher than wheat to account for the larger seed size of the triticale. Note: if early planting results in dense fall growth, light grazing or a forage cut may improve winter sur-vival.

FERTILITYApplication of 40 to 80 lbs. of both actual P and actual K is a very general recommendation. Soil test to determine more spe-cific recommendations. Best to apply P and K in the fall.

Nitrogen is very important. At least 100 lbs. of available N is needed. N needs are seldom met from manure alone. Fall apply 30 to 35 lbs. of actual N, and add 60 to 65 lbs in the spring. Spring applied N is very important for optimum protein levels.

Trical 815 will do well on ground that favors other small grains

WEED CONTROLTrical 815’s vigorous growth usually suppresses broadleaf weed competition. Where herbicides are needed, consult with your supplier for information about the best choice.

HARVESTFor outstanding forage quality while still achieving yields, the optimum harvest stage is at flag leaf or boot, prior to head emergence. Protein content at this stage will vary depending on fertility, moisture, and other growing conditions, but generally will range between 14 and 19%.

PALATABILITYHighly palatable. Harvested on time, Trical 815 can be used as silage, balage, or hay.

RISKSEvery product has risks; the following information can help you avoid some possible problems:

Winter injury: Timely seeding and good fertilization will re-duce the risk of winter injury.

Lodging: High fertility conditions and succulent growth can cause lodging. Plan to harvest earlier than normal under those conditions.

Stands: Careful seedbed preparation and seeding methods favor good stands.

Forage Quality: Proper fertility and timely harvest favor high forage quality.

SORGHUM SUDANGRASSBMR SORGHUM-SUDANGRASS MANAGEMENT PRACTICESSEEDINGSoil temperature should be at least 60 F.

Plant between April 10-July 10.

Can be no-tilled into the stub-ble of winter and spring crops.

Planting depth should be 1”

Do not plant in soils with pH greater than 7.5 to 8.0. Chloro-sis can be a severe problem.

HARVESTSSBMR901 is normally harvested 60-65 days after seeding. DSBMR603 is normally harvested 50-55 days after seeding. SSBMR601 is normally harvested 75-90 days after seeding.

Protein will decline as harvest is delayed, but energy will increase upon heading because of continued sugar formation in the sorghum stalks and leaves and carbohydrate depo-sition in the developing grains.

Avoid Nitrate and Prussic Acid Poisoning from Sor-ghumAvoid large nitrogen appli-cations prior to expected drought periods as this can increase Prussic Acid concen-tration for several weeks after application.

Do not harvest drought-dam-aged plants within four days following a good rain.

Do not greenchop within sev-en days of a killing frost.

Cut at a higher stubble height, nitrates tend to accumulate in the lower stalk.

Wait one month before feeding silage to give Prussic Acid enough time to escape.

PRO-TON+

Pro-Ton+ is a summer planted forage that is a mixture of BMR Sorghum Sudangrass, soybeans and forage peas. It is an excellent yielding summer forage that can be used for silage, balage or grazing.

Expected Nutritional Benefit

Crude Protein 15-20%ADF 35-40%

TDF 50-60%NDF 50-55%

*Nutritional benefits will vary with harvest dates.

Pro-Ton+ works well as a summer to early fall annual forage. It gives a producer the option of growing a high yielding forage which is ready to graze approximately 21 days after planting, at a height of 16” to 29”. Also, rotational grazing works well, as the regrowth is very rapid allowing heavy grazing.

The high quality forage of Pro-Ton+ is attributed to the brown mid-rib sorghum sudangrass. Pro-Ton+ is very digestible, and is high in lysine and low in lignin. The soybeans and peas are high in protein providing a balanced ration essential to good growth.

PRO-TON+ MANAGEMENT PRACTICESSEEDINGPro-Ton+ should be drilled (using the soybean setting).

Planting Pro-Ton+ in warm soils (60°-65°) will enable quick emer-gence, which will help suppress weed competition.

Seed Rate: 100 - 125 lbs/acre

Seeding Depth: ½” - 1”

Fertilizer Requirements: 60 - 80 lbs. NPK

HARVESTPro-Ton+ is usually ready to cut 55-65 days after planting.

Pro-Ton+ planted in late May can provide a second cutting in the fall. Yield potential on two cuttings is 15-20 ton at 50% dry matter.

Pro-Ton+ planted after wheat in Mid-July normally yields 11-13 ton per acre at 50% dry matter.

**Prussic Acid levels will rise after a frost or freezing. It is rec-ommended to remove animals from pasture for at least 7 days to allow Prussic Acid levels to drop to a safe level.

FORAGE FEASTForage products marketed under the Forage Feast brand have been selected based on their superior forage qualities. Our initial introduction included a Genuity® Roundup Ready® alfalfa and BMR sorghum-sudangrass hybrids.

FORAGE FEAST DSBMR603This dry stalk sorghum sudangrass hybrid produces a high tillering high quality forage that has excellent early vigor. The high leaf to stem ratio means that you can count on high protein. The digestibility of this hybrid has been increased by 20% due to the BMR 6 trait. With the dry stalk gene it allows a more timely harvest and helps to get the crop baled and out of the field before it gets rained on while drying.

• Low water requirements. • Highly palatable and digestible.

• High yield potential.

Growth Habit: Upright

Maturity: 50-55 days to boot

Midrib Type: Brown

Plant Height: 50-55 inches

Seeding Rates: 15-35 #/a

FORAGE FEAST SSBMR907Forage Feast SSBMR907 is a dryland hybrid with sweet juicy stalks. It has reduced lignin which improves two things: fiber digestibility and palatability. The increase in efficiency and utilization in SSBMR907 will give you better gain per acre. We have observed yields of 5-8 DM tons/per acre. This hybrid is good for dryland grazing, hay, balage, or silage. It has an extensive deep root system allowing it to continue its growth under dry conditions.

FORAGE FEAST SSBMR601

SSBMR601 is a high yielding brachytic dwarf forage sorghum hybrid that has two traits that establish its superiority. Its plant height at 6-7 feet will lead to superior standability, and the BMR trait indicates reduced lignin for increased digestibility. The brachytic trait really condenses the intermodal length of the hybrid, leading to a very compact plant with dense leaf canopy.

• A high yielding BMR 6 hybrid.

• Very wide leaves, creating a dense immense canopy.

Growth Habit: Brachytic Dwarf

Maturity: 85 days to soft dough

EVERLEAF OATS

EverLeaf 126 is a true spring oat with dark green foliage, an erect growth habit and very good Standability. It has leaves that actually extend above the canopy at heading. EverLeaf 126 is a delayed heading oat and much of its forage mass and quality come from an extended maturity. Since the plant is naturally vegetative for a longer period, biomass accumulation is extraordinary. It has a compact panicle that offers an attractive product when baled.

Seeding Rate: Alone: 75-80 #/a With Alfalfa: 32-40 #/a

MILKMAX

MILKMAX is a 40/60 blend of EverLeaf forage oats and Forager Peas which are very high yielding, excellent forage quality pea.

Seeding Rate: Alone: 100-150 #/a With Alfalfa: 50-75 #/a

EVERLEAF 126 MANAGEMENT NOTESEverLeaf 126 has the same requirements as other spring planted forage cereals.

Adequate seed bed preparation is important as are seeding rate and fertility. Everleaf 126 have a great deal of biomass and there-fore insufficient levels of plant food and water will limit overall productive capacity.

Dry land production should be limited to heavier soils with adequate rainfall. These oats exhibit completely new genetics and provide an excellent opportunity for spring planted forage for manure management.

Always test forages for nitrate levels when grown in high nitro-gen regimes.

Used as a nurse crop for newly seeded alfalfa, the delayed head-ing feature allows newly planted alfalfa stands to become more uniformly established before first cutting. This translates into higher quality forage and less damage to seedling alfalfa plants with immature crowns.

HEIGHTEverLeaf 126 height is medium to tall. Under good moisture and fertility heads emerge at 48 to 52 inches. These oats respond well under irrigation and stand erect and resist lodging.

HARVEST STAGESAt boot stage, EverLeaf 126 is highest in crude protein and in total digestible fiber.

At milk stage forage tonnage is optimized with corresponding reduction in crude protein and digestibility.

At Grain Harvest the straw remains somewhat green and pliable because of increased moisture content. This creates an excellent opportunity for baled product. For the oat straw market, swath-ing at harvest is recommended for maximum drydown.

DISEASE RESISTANCEIn many production areas rust has adapted to conventional for-age oats and is a significant impediment to quality and tonnage. EverLeaf 126 has shown resistance to rust and most other leaf and stem diseases. Evaluation is continuing on rust resistance and tolerance.
