You might notice that the Culham Writing Company changed their name from the Writing Traits Company. This was the result of a trademark dispute, but due to the flexibility of the original design elements we maintained the simple style which sets the Culham Writing materials apart.

This is the newly redesigned Culham Writing web site. It uses a state of the art content management system (CMS), an e-commerce system currently set only to display products but which can be enabled for full shopping-cart functionality, sales, and inventory control. The CMS allows the client to add and update content easily and without developer assistance.

I created this site for our wedding, choosing colors, images, and our own photos to create a look and feel that fits our style. The design exhibits simple yet graphically heavy design elements but utilizes a full XHTML and CSS2 layout so the content is cleanly separated from the presentation elements.

I designed a data collection system used by employees at the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory to log in, enter and maintain information related to school site visits. Much of my work involves large-scale, database applications with web-based user interfaces. Though the look and feel of this application was designed in-house at the Lab, I used templating to incorporate the application into the overall look for this section of Lab's web pages.

This is an example of another large-scale web database application I created for the Lab. The purpose of this application is an online bibliography/citation management tool. Users create extensive libraries of citation/reference information for which they enter or import bibliographic data. These libraries can then be shared, exported to Word or text documents, and made available to other researchers in ways that stand-alone applications can not achieve.

This web design for Peter Jacobsen Productions was a collaboration with in-house and other freelance graphics designers. I created the template system and layout for these pages, which incorporated Macromedia Flash into an otherwise simple and elegant way for PJP to communicate with clients and advertisers.

The PJP website has since been redesigned by in-house web developers, but the company maintained this design for a long period of time.

Ronin Studios is a graphic-design company with which I often collaborate. Web designs and art direction are provided in mock-up form to me, from which I create templates, Macromedia Flash movies (like the one you see here), or which I use to flush out an intitial layout or design. I take the conceptual art or logo work and make into a beautiful, funtional web design.

The design you see here was the result of a collaboration with Ronin Studios. The graphical elements were utilized by a database-backed application into which Acumed employees could showcase products, case studies, and tradeshows. The database application I designed is still in use, though the look and feel has changed several times as in-house designers keep it up to date with the company's branding and advertising changes.

River Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping grassroots efforts to conserve water resources. I donated my time to create a database application which integrated the River Network web design and allowed staff to keep state-by-state Clean Water Act information up-to-date and searchable for site visitors.

Northwest Business Systems requested an extremely simple, bare-bones web site that was easy to maintain by non-technical in-house staff. They used this site primarily as a gateway for supply ordering and meter reading services. I created a simple look that incorporated themes from their parent company, Imagistics, and trained in-house staff to use simple editing tools to keep their web site up-to-date.
