Because none of us have many years to live, and we can't take along anything when we go, so we don't have to be too thrifty...

Spend the money that should be spent, enjoy what should be enjoyed, donate what you are able to donate, but don't leave all to your children or grandchildren, for you don't want them to become parasites who are waiting for the day you will die!!

Don't worry about what will happen after we are gone, because when we return to dust, we will feel nothing about praises or criticisms. The time to enjoy the worldly life and your hard earned wealth will be over!

Don't worry too much about your children, for children will have their own destiny and should find their own way. Don't be your children's slave. Care for them, love them, give them gifts but also enjoy your money while you can. Life should have more to it than working from the cradle to the grave!!

Don't expect too much from your children. Caring children, though caring, would be too busy with their jobs and commitments to render much help.

Uncaring children may fight over your assets even when you are still alive, and wish for your early demise so they can inherit your properties and wealth.

Your children take for granted that they are rightful heirs to your wealth; but that you have no claims to their money.

50-year old like you, don't trade in your health for wealth by working yourself to an early grave anymore... Because your money may not be able to buy your health...

When to stop making money, and how much is enough (hundred thousands, million, ten million)?

Out of thousand hectares of good farm land, you can consume only three quarts (of rice) daily; out of a thousand mansions, you only need eight square meters of space to rest at night.

So, as long as you have enough food and enough money to spend, that is good enough. You should live happily. Every family has its own problems.

Just do not compare with others for fame and social status and see whose children are doing better, etc., but challenge others for happiness, health, enjoyment, quality of life and longevity...

Don't worry about things that you can't change because it doesn't help and it may spoil your health.

You have to create your own well-being and find your own place of happiness. As long as you are in good mood and good health, think about happy things,do happy things daily and have fun in doing, then you will pass your time happily every day.

One day passes without happiness, you will lose one day. One day passes with happiness, and then you gain one day.

In good spirit, sickness will cure; in a happy spirit, sickness will cure faster; in high and happy spirits; sickness will never come.

With good mood, suitable amount of exercise, always in the sun, variety of foods, reasonable amount of vitamin and mineral intake, hopefully you will live another 20 or 30 years of healthy life of pleasure.

Above all, learn to cherish the goodness around... and FRIENDS... They all make you feel young and "wanted"... without them you are surely to feel lost!!

Shri P. N. Oak, a renowned heritage architect, appointed by Spanish Government, has conducted a deep research on “ Missing Chapters on World History”. His Books are of great value to the historians, history students and the heritage lovers.

It was 143 years ago that Ramdas Thackersay set sail from the coastal town of Mandvi to relocate his growing business to Muscat for faster access to strategic ports. His forefathers, dhow merchants from Mandvi, had landed in Sur in the mid-1800s. As traders, they brought grain, tea and spices from India and took away dates, dry lime, and frankincense from the sultanate of Oman. Muscat was, at that time, a very active port. Thackersay's son, Khimji Ramdas, followed him and together, they sowed the seeds of a global enterprise that is today one of the largest business groups in Oman.Khimji Ramdas Group of Companies passed on from generation to generation and, in 1970, Thackersay's great-grandson, Kanaksi Khimji, took over from his father, Gokaldas, after finishing his education in Mumbai. Today, with an annual turnover of more than $1 billion, the group is the chosen partner of more than 400 top global brands in consumer products, lifestyle, infrastructure, projects and logistics. It has business operations in India and UAE and is a corporate member of the World Economic Forum. "We see achievements as milestones in the quest for excellence. We just want to be the best," says the 77-year-old tycoon, Kanaksi Khimji. Not sales and volumes, Khimji believes that the most important measure of success for his family's business is how far it has helped advance the national development plans laid out by Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said. In fact, Khimji with his Indian roots was one of the first to embrace Omanisation, a directive to train and empower Omani professionals. Such a rare honour makes Khimji the most distinguished Indian in this Middle Eastern country. However, it is Khimji's philanthropy that has made him a legend across the world. In 1975, just five years after taking over from his father Gokaldas, Kanakbhai, as he is

fondly known, founded the first English Indian School in Muscat. There are 19 Indian schools catering to around 35,000 students in Oman today. Probably the finest jewel in his crown is the title of Sheikh conferred on him by the Sultan, the first-ever use of the title for a member of the Hindu community. "Though my family hails from Kutch in Gujarat, we have always identified with Oman as our home country," he says. "I was offered the nationality of Oman in recognition of all the goodwill created by my ancestors. It is a gift that I accepted twenty years late. But I am glad I finally did."A historic bond When Kanaksi Khimji took over the family business in 1970, motorized navigational ships weren't launched in Oman yet. Earlier, during the two World Wars, the Khimjis were chosen as supplier for provisions for the entire base of allied forces. "This gave us the opportunity to earn revenue and strengthen our base. We quickly learnt the art of supply chain management and maritime shore support," says Pankaj Khimji, son of Kanaksi Khimji and director of the group. Life before the Omani Renaissance, though, was tough. "The pre-70s were very different as there was no electricity or piped water. We went to wells to take bath and clean clothes. At least one lantern was required to walk on the streets after sunset. It was a close knit community that lived in Muscat and Muttrah. The gates of Muscat closed at sundown," recalls Kanakbhai. "We stuck to our core business of trading and prospered with the Renaissance setting in. We were expanding as the country grew economically, and we struck roots across the country," he adds. The first bank to be set up in Muscat was HSBC, its building constructed by the Khimji Ramdas (KR) group more than 60 years ago. Before that, trading was done by barter or through silver. Bait al Falaj, now known as Ruwi, was the first airport in Oman which too was built by the Khimji group. It was the Khimjis who first acquired the Ford dealership in 1969 and, interestingly, the sultan of Oman had ordered their first car.

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.’He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, So ... Love the people who treat you right.Pray for the ones who don't.Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! Have a garbage-free day......

Sudan has more pyramids than any other country on Earth - even more than Egypt. There are at least 223 pyramids in the Sudanese cities of Al Kurru, Nuri, Gebel Barkal and Meroë. They are generally 20 to 30 metres (65 -100 ft) high and steep sided.

Although people in the majority of countries of the world drive on the right side of roads, there are some fifty nations in which people drive on the left. These include England and many former English colonies such as Australia,New Zealand, India...etc... but not the U.S. or Canada. There are several non-English countries where people also drive on the left including Japan.

The Mongolian horse is the native horse breed of Mongolia. The breed is purported to be largely unchanged since the time of Genghis Khan. Nomads living in the traditional Mongol fashion still hold more than 3 million animals, which outnumber the country's human population (2.75 million). Despite their small size, they are horses, not ponies.

Papua New Guinea is the country that is home to the most languages, over 750 in all! The most commonly spoken languages in Papua New Guinea, however, are Motu and pidgin English.

The Great Kobuk Sand Dunes lie 40 miles above the Arctic Circle, yet summer temperatures there can soar to 100 degress Fahrenheit! One of Alaska's true oddities, in some places, the sand stands 100 feet high. The three clusters of dunes within the park the Great Kobuk, the Little Kobuk, and the Hunt River Sand Dunes cover 25 square miles and constitute the largest active sand dunes within arctic latitudes.

All windmills in Ireland turn in a clockwise direction, while the rest of the windmills in the world turn counter-clockwise.

The original London Bridge was shipped stone-by-stone and reconstructed in Lake Havasu City. When the bridge, built in the 1830s began to sink into the Thames River in the 1960s, it was replaced by a more modern concrete bridge. Then, England put the stones up for sale in 1967. A man named Robert P. McCulloch Sr., purchased the bridge on April 17, 1968, at a cost of $2,460,000. The 10,246 blocks were shipped to Arizona and reassembled over

a lagoon at the edge Lake Havasu at a cost of $3 Million. The Bridge opened in 1971.

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. Built between 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings with 8,707 bays of rooms and covers 720,000 m2 (7,800,000 sq ft). Jaisalmer was one of the Rajput kingdoms of Rajasthan which emerged in sixteenth century India in the modern north-west of the country. It was centred around the city of Jaisalmer, in south-western Rajasthan. It has been nicknamed the 'Golden City' thanks to its yellow sandstone structures and the gold-coloured desert surrounding them. It was once the royal seat of the Bhatti Rajputs (the Yaduvanshi), a sect which had one or two notable warrior leaders. Today's Jaisalmer Rajputs claim descent from these, including early medieval kings such as Jaisimha, Devraj (considered to be the founder of the Jaisalmer royal line), Rawal Jaisal (who established the city of Jaisalmer in 1156), and Rawal Jethsi (who faced an eight year siege by Sultan Aladin Khilji of Delhi around 1294).The Rajputs who inherited the territory were Hindu warrior clans, and the word 'rajput' itself literally means 'the son of the king', with the people being known for their valour. There were a number of small Rajput kingdoms which emerged between the sixth and thirteenth centuries, including Amer, Bikaner, Bundi, Jodhpur, Malwa, Kannauj, Mewar, and all were eventually conquered by the Moghuls.Patiala, in the south-eastern area of the modern Indian state of Punjab, was a Jat Sikh state which was founded by Sardar Baba Ala Singh. The line of kings traces its ancestry to Rawal Jaisal, the founder of the city of Jaisalmer.
