Recognizing this new direction and the significant role home furnishings plays in consumer self-expression, Lexington Home Brands announces the introduction of Los Altos, a lifestyle collection in the Tommy Bahama Home brand portfolio. The collection will debut at the High Point Market, April 13-18, 2018 in Lexington’s primary showroom at 1300 National Highway. “The fascinating thing about global styling as a category is that it encompasses this incredibly diverse range of design influences,” said Phil Haney, President and CEO of Lexington Home Brands. “For our product development team, their creative license has no geographic or artistic boundaries, which is unique given the traditionally rigid style classifications in home furnishings. That’s also why the category is so compelling from a design perspective. To me, global styling is best described as thoughtfully curated eclecticism.” “Tommy Bahama Home offers the ideal portfolio through which to interpret this new consumer lifestyle,” continued Haney. “The brand’s aspirational promise speaks to travel, exotic destinations and a life well-lived. Product hallmarks are unique designs, indigenous materials and custom finishes – it’s a collector’s aesthetic. Our responsibility as product designers is to create a whole home presentation that curates the world for the benefit of our consumers. We’ve done that with Los Altos, setting a benchmark for a style category we term Global Transitional. The vibe is upscale casual, with high-fashion moments, celebrating the kinship and design diversity of a global community. This new category is poised for remarkable growth due to its hyper-relevance, and the extent to which it reflects break-out innovation in the artful interpretation of interior design.” The Los Altos collection is crafted from carefully selected Knotty Oak veneers that are gently wire- brushed to enhance the character of the grain, finished in a semi-transparent natural oak stain and hand-rubbed with a linen-white finishing glaze. The understated look conveys a sense of authenticity and casual sophistication because of the natural finish and interesting knot patterns in the oak veneers. Accent materials include aged bronze metal, travertine, woven Abaca and braided Lampakanai.

Lexington Introduces Los Altos from Tommy Bahama Home New Collection Poised to Set a Benchmark for Global Transitional Style

HIGH POINT, NC – The influence of global styling in fashion and design has sparked an evolution in the way upscale consumers choose to define their personal style. Designs in Los Altos reflect a magical alchemy between the native and the exotic, the primitive and the sophisticated, the mysterious and the familiar. Inspiration was drawn from an eclectic range of indigenous cultures and influences – tribal, ethnic, Southwest, bohemian, aboriginal, Moroccan and Polynesian. There is a handcrafted, artisanal quality to the styling and materials that transcends the expected, imparting a one-of-a-kind distinctiveness to the designs. Custom upholstery silhouettes and remarkable textiles are central to the lifestyle presentation. Unique frame designs incorporate woven Abaca and braided Lampakanai for a signature Tommy Bahama look, along with striking exposed wooden frames. Globally-inspired fabrics include a range of interesting textures, leathers, Ikats, Suzanis, Kuba patterns, ethnic geometrics, animal skins, warm metallics and Moroccan designs. Since home furnishings follow fashion, many of these textiles are patterns that have proven themselves on the runway and resonated with consumers in apparel boutiques.

“Modern life has become increasingly experiential - particularly as it relates to travel and culture,” concluded Haney. “Our goal in creating Los Altos was to demonstrate that you don’t have to travel the world to create a remarkable global aesthetic at home. In Los Altos, we have captured the romance and intrigue of this lifestyle and translated it into a stylish, comfortable and authentic approach to casual contemporary living.”

Los Altos makes its debut at the High Point Market, April 13-18, 2018 in the Lexington Home Brands Showroom, located at 1300 National Highway. Complimentary parking is available on the showroom campus and lunch is served daily. Private transportation departs every 15 minutes from the Lexington Design Studio in downtown High Point to Lexington’s primary showroom and to the Artistica showroom at 200 North Hamilton. The service operates daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm or until the last guest is accommodated. The Design Studio is located at the corner of Commerce Street and Wrenn, directly across from the IHFC building and the main transportation terminal.
