Kokoda Footsteps Trekking is a local manage Tour-

ism Company based at Owens corner gateway to

Kokoda track .The Company comprises of very high-

ly local guides & porters along the famous Kokoda

track. The team consist of local guides who have

walk the track 100-150 guiding the trekkers along

the track and providing them the history and sites

forth in the Kokoda campaign in 1942.The compa-

ny has a priority is to promote Koiari culture includ-

ing the famous Kokoda trail and most of to create

employment opportunity to the local grassroots

along the track.

Behind our fairly recent company history, we

have collect individuals along the track who have

experience in guides, porters and security who

are local from koiari because we know the best of

our composition of our community along the

track.

We have readily available guides, porters & secu-

rity on standby .These men are age between 25

&45 years .We drilled in the art of deterrence and

alertness and courteous of our clients .The

unique character of our strong men team is that

we all want to protect our client by making them

enjoy every bit of time while with us. We breach

our confidence as a group totally committed to

keep our name and reputation clean as a tourism

company and promote koiari culture.

A personal potter - cost an additional A$400 if hired

prior to starting trek. If you hire a personal potter during your

trek, there is an additional charge of A$100.

Extra money to use along the trail and for tips if you

wish. any food or snack that you want in addition to our rations

pack.

We recommend that you should take K400 - K500 with you

on the trek. Please remember that there is no excess facilities

for credit cards and other systems to be used along the trek

therefore, you should be well stocked. Sport drinks can help

keep up the salt and mineral loss each day. Glucose type sup-

plements are also a great energy boost before.

Trekkers Recommendation

Trekkers should have a proper medical check-up and

must be must provide proof of their own travel and ins -

urance cover. It is recommended that trekkers should

hire their own potter to carry their essentials. The cost of

potter is A$400.00 which covers the potter's pay, food,

airfare and road transport cost. A guide is a necessity

unless you have walked the Kokoda trail before or an

experienced trekker. A food potter is required to carry

your food supply unless you want to carry item yourself

or else want to feed on local food. A personal potter is

of matter of choice .

Cost per trekker AUD$ 2,000

To hire potter (optional ) AUD 500

Please note: Bookings are not considered confirmed

until Kokoda Footstep Trekking has received your com-

plete payments. A deposit of A$500, per trekker is re-

quired at the time of the booking to secure your trek.

This confirms your commitment and all administration

costs and associated expenditures.

We offer the best trekking gears for our own company sites. The

gears on offer are of different types suitable for trekking the

mountainous and rugged terrains of Kokoda trail.

Tents (single/2-men tents) - $70.00

Day Pack (Caring essential items) - $55.00

Trekking Poles (Design Poles) - $50.00 All gears are available for use. payments for each gear is done

apart from the trekking costs. The gears will be issued at Gate-

way Hotel in Port Moresby. Trekkers will be contacted for fur-

ther arrangement for the required gear
