The annual Ryde Little Athletics Presentation Day was held on Sunday 15th May
at Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club. Closure was brought to the 2015/2016 season
with the presentation of trophies to the major award winners, medals to the
age group winners and trophies to the most improved athletes.
The Presentation Day started off with Louise Bergfield recognising Ryde Seniors
coach Ross Foster’s achievement of being awarded the ANSW Club/Community
Club Coach of the Year. Congratulations Ross!
There was also a surprise announcement from our Club President Ron Daniel
who announced that he was retiring from his position after a 12 year stint. The
Ryde Athletics Centre community would like to wish Ron Daniel much success
with his future endeavours.
Congratulations to all the award winners whose achievements were recognised
on the day in front of their proud parents, grandparents and families. Also a big
thank you to all the volunteers, parents and coaches who have supported all
the Ryde athletes this season.

My First Footprint: Thank you to Louise Bergfield, Pete Davis, Mark Lillis and other
committee members for their assistance with compiling my first edition of Footprint.
Also a big thank you to George Davis (Under 13 Boys) for his photo contribution.
George has very kindly shared his photos of the Presentation Day. I am sure that you
will agree that he is an amazing photographer. Thank you George!
During the off season please send through any of your child’s/children’s achievements
from school cross country and athletics carnivals. It would be nice to share your
photos in the next edition of Footprint. Please email any photos with a short
description to [email protected]
Finally, on the last page of this Footprint you will find our new club flyer. Please assist
the club by printing these out and distributing it to any interested athletes. Any
assistance in promoting our centre would be greatly appreciated. Look out for our
new club flyer in your school’s newsletter and around the local area. If anyone would
like to help distribute the flyer or would like to approach their school about including
it in their Newsletter please contact me by email at [email protected]
I look forward to keeping you all informed about all the Athletics Fun at Ryde next
season (2016/2017).
