CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston held Fairmont State scoreless in a 45-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at University of Charleston Stadium. With the win, Charleston improves to 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the Mountain East Conference. FSU goes to 2-7 overall and 1-7 in the conference. Charleston found the end zone early to build a 27-0 lead in the opening half. To open the second half, UC took the opening kicko! 90 yards for the touchdown to give Charleston a 33-0 advantage. Charleston would add 12 more points to extend the final score to 45-0. The Golden Eagles out-gained the Falcons, 439-141 and held a 22-6 advan-tage in first downs. Charleston had 311 yards on the ground in the victory and held a nine minutes advantage in time of possession. Cooper Hibbs went 7-for-15 for 61 yards and an interception in the game. Hibbs also led the Falcons on the ground with 10 yards. Nick Alvaro hauled in five catches for 28 yards. TC Chestnut had 15 tackles and Garrett Davis added 14 to lead the FSU defense. John Knox, Leighton Settle and Boobie Tobler each had at-least 48 yards on the ground in the victory. Henry led the UC passing game with two catch-es for 44 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Knox had 115 on the ground and led UC in passing, completing 7-of-14 passes for 104 yards and two scores.

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State turned the ball over seven times in a narrow, 42-35, loss to Notre Dame College on Thursday evening to open the 2014 season. Despite the turnovers, Fairmont State had 551 yards of total o!ense in the loss. Notre Dame was nearly as proficient on o!ense racking up 456 yards

Cooper Hibbs racked up a career-high 415 yards on 30-of-57 pass attempts and threw four touchdown passes for the Falcons. However, Hibbs was also picked-o! four times in the loss. Daniel Monroe led the FSU ground game with eight carries for 91 yards and a score, Monroe had a 67-yard touch-down run in the third quarter and also hauled in a touchdown reception in the game. FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State escaped a late surge by Glenville State to pick up a 40-36 victory over the Pioneers on Saturday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field. Glenville State outgained Fairmont State, 544-435, in total o!ense and racked up 312 yards on the ground in the losing e!ort. Cooper Hibbs an-chored the Fairmont State o!ense by completing 25-of-36 passes for 384 yards and three touchdown passes in the victory. Daniel Marc-Sears hauled in two touchdown passes and had 85 yards to lead all FSU receivers. Malique Watkins chipped in five catches for 79 yards and Dwight Heron added a team-high eight catches for 70 yards. The Fal-cons were led on the ground by Daniel Monroe with 12 carries for 55 yards. Rahmann Lee racked up 300 yards of total o!ense with 220 yards on the ground and 80 yards through the air for Glenville State. Tevin Drake also added 98 yards on 17 carries for the Pioneers. Chazzy Thomas put the Falcons on the board early in the first quarter by crossing the goal line from one-yard out to cap a 12-play, 80-yard drive for the Falcons. After Glenville State turned the ball over on downs, Hibbs found Marc-Sears for a 30-yard touchdown pass to put the Falcons ahead 14-0 at the 2:30 mark of the opening quarter. The Falcons added a quick field goal to open the second quarter and Hibbs found Marc-Sears on the second FSU possession of the quarter from 55 yards out to give the Falcons a commanding 24-0 advantage with 7:21 to go in the opening half. On the ensuing possession, the Pioneers got on the board with a 52-yard run by Lee to make the score 24-6 following a missed extra points. Late in the second quarter, Steele found Drake in the flat for a 14-yard touchdown reception to send the game to the half with a 24-14 advantage for the Falcons. After the teams exchanged touchdowns to make the score, 40-20, the Pioneers added a touchdown at the 11:27 mark of the fourth when Steele found Jake Harper in the back of the end-zone for his second touchdown of the game.

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- Fairmont State scored the final 10 points of the game to pick up a 24-12 conference victory over West Virginia State on Saturday afternoon at Monroe Stadium. The victory is the first on the road for FSU since the 2011 season. Backup quarterback Tyler Pate made the start and had a solid outing after a few early interceptions by completing 18-of-30 pass attempts for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Fabian Guerra returned to the lineup and hauled in five catches for 43 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Daniel Monroe led the FSU ground attack with 18 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown. FSU rushed for over 200 yards on the ground for the first time this season, total-ing 217 rushing yards in the victory. The Yellow Jacket o!ense racked up 457 yards of total o!ense and was led by Matt Kinnick, completing 34-of-55 passes for 406 yards and a touchdown strike to Joshua Caiquo. FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Concord scored 24 of the final 31 points to pull away from Fairmont State, 45-21, on Saturday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field. With the win, Concord improves to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Mountain East Conference. FSU falls to 2-3 on the season. Concord rolled up 435 yards of total o!ense, including 230 yards on the ground in the victory. The Mountain Lions also won the turnover margin, 3-1. FSU outgained the Mountain Lions, 269-205 through the air. Cooper Hibbs completed 25-of-42 passes for 269 yards and three touch-downs to lead the FSU o!ense. Fabian Guerra was on the receiving end of 12 of those catches for 136 yards and a score. Sharmarte Banks also chipped in four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon. Austin White became the first 100-yard rusher for the Falcons this season with 24 carries for 108 yards. Calvinaugh Jones carried the ball 21 times for 144 yards and three scores to lead the Mountain Lions o!ensively. West Liberty (3-3, 3-2 MEC) scored 21 points in the opening 11:58 of the game and went 6-for-6 from inside the red zone in the victory. FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State rallied from a 21-point halftime deficit to edge Urbana, 35-31, on Saturday afternoon during the 2014 Homecoming Game. Fabian Guerra scored the go-ahead touchdown at the 6:56 mark of the fourth quarter on a 32-yard pass from Cooper Hibbs. The teams combined for 410 penalty yards on 41 accepted penalties in the game. The national record for combined penalties in a game is 42. Despite all the penalties, Urbana racked up 449 yards of total o!ense while Fairmont State totaled 392 yards. Cooper Hibbs completed 23-of-37 pass attempts for 332 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the come-from-behind victory. Devon Garnett hauled in eight passes for 78 yards and Guerra caught five passes for 77 yards and a score. Daniel Marc-Sears also had a big day in the passing game with four catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. Austin White led the FSU rushing attack with 16 carries for 46 yards and a score. FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State was held scoreless in the second half in a 34-13 defeat at West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at Ross Field. Despite occasional rain fall and constant wind throughout the afternoon, Jeremy Musselman completed 22-of-39 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns to lead WVWC to the MEC victory. Fairmont State was limited
