Stories From God’s Closet
• Getting Back on One’s FeetA young woman with no relatives in the United States lost her job and had no income to pay her rent. She was evicted from the room she was renting and was homeless for two months while pregnant. Someone reached out to God’s Closet on her behalf, and through prayers, this young woman found a family who allowed her to live at their place, rent free for a year, to help her get back on her feet. God’s Closet provided her with a bassinet, car seat, changing table, stroller, diapers, and baby clothes . She was able to welcome her baby in October 2020 with the essentials she needed.

Stories From God’s Closet
• Paying It ForwardIn early February 2020, a client asked God’s Closet to keep an eye out for a sewing machine. God’s Closet did not think anyone would donate a sewing machine. But lo and behold, a few weeks later, God’s Closet got an email from Pastor Greg that a church member had a sewing machine to donate!
The client who requested the sewing machine has difficulty walking and also needed a walker, which God’s Closet was able to provide. With her limited mobility and being very experienced with a sewing machine, the client thought she could start providing seamstress services as a way to earn money. Unfortunately, when the pandemic started escalating in our area, no one was in need of a seamstress.
The donation of the sewing machine came with a big box of fabric that had never been used. The client used the donated fabric to make face masks for her neighbors and community. What a blessing!

Stories From God’s Closet
• “God Has Answered My Prayers”In May 2019, an 8-year-old boy told God’s Closet that he had been praying for a bicycle. He asked that, if someone donates a bicycle, to please save it for him.
Over the next 10 months whenever the boy came to the Food Pantry and God’s Closet, he would always ask “has MY bicycle arrived yet?”
In late June 2020, a boy’s bicycle, in the perfect size for the boy in the story above, was donated to God’s Closet and was subsequently delivered to him. The boy was extremely happy when he received the bicycle and said, “God has answered my prayers”.
