Why Food Programming?• Between 1965 and 1992, home food

preparation fell steadily as eating out consistently increased.

• Although this trend seems to have leveled off since 1992, still only about half of all Americans cook at home on any given day.

• People who frequently cook meals at home eat healthier and consume fewer calories than those who cook less.

• The USDA and other organizations are encouraging Americans to get back into the kitchen (and to bring their kids with them).

• Plus it’s really fun!
