We prepared dinner bags—sandwiches, fruits, veggies, milk and snacks (x5) — for 30 of our Culture Club kids and helpers last week, just before the official end of this very odd school year. Ozark Food Harvest made it possible for us to send each child home with a carton of orange juice, a dozen eggs, a jar of peanut butter, three cans of fruits and vegetables, and two packages of cheese. Each child also received several fun snacks, courtesy of Larry Graham. None of this would have been possible without volunteers who helped make sandwiches, portion veggies, pack bags, and ensure each child would have Brain Time activities. Many thanks, also, to those who have recently contributed to support our Culture Club project. While this was the official year-end for Culture Club, we remain in contact with our families and will do additional food distributions as the needs may arise this summer. The Call Hosting Graduation for Boyd The fifth-grade students from Boyd Elementary were able to mark their graduation last Tuesday, May 19, with an open-air celebration in our parking lot. Families were encouraged to stay in or near their vehicles—which were spaced out—and honk their horns in lieu of applause. McKenzie Pon, a fifth-grade teacher at Boyd, helped set up for the festivities. Ms. Pon is a member of the Central family, the daughter of Susan Pon, and the granddaughter of Rex and Marilyn (Starnes) Biggs. Boyd school supply needs for 2020-21 school year Once again we have the opportunity to help some of our youngest neighbors prepare for the next

school year. We will be partnering with Central Assembly to meet the school supply needs

for students at Boyd Elementary. We are still working out the details regarding which

congregation will provide what; the school has already provided us with the least of needs.

There is no rush to collect these items at this point, but please keep your eyes open for these

items in the coming days, weeks, and months.

Sunday morning What to expect when church returns to the building

Target date:

June 7

The Executive Committee and members of the ministry

staff are meeting weekly to discuss the numerous details

that need to be considered in order for us to meet in

person on Sunday mornings. They will make the final

determination about the date of return as informed by

local health department guidelines and the wisdom of

our denominational leadership. That date will be

communicated through automated telephone call, the

church website, the church Facebook page, and The Call.

Pews will be marked off to create appropriate social distancing. You

may not be able to sit in your favorite seat for awhile.

Pew Bibles and hymnals will be removed. Words for special

music and Scriptures will be on the screens. You are welcome to

bring your own Bible. We will NOT be singing together. Our

Music Department is working on creative means of including some

live music in morning worship services.

• Glove-wearing ushers will assist with seating, from entering the building to exiting the

sanctuary.

• Hand-sanitizer will be available around the building; please plan on using it often.

• Masks will be MANDATORY, at least for the first few weeks. Disposable masks will be

available in the lobby; congregants are invited to bring their own reusable masks.

• Water fountains will be out of service.

• Pre-packaged communion elements will be available to pick-up before entering the

sanctuary.

• Collection plates will be placed near entrances and exits.

• Child care will not be available; the nursery will be open for diaper changes.

• The sound booth will be limited to one member of the youth group and one member of church

staff.

• At all times we will be practicing appropriate social distancing.
