Follmann was founded in Germany in 1977 by Heinrich Follmann and Dr Rainer

Follmann. The company initially specialized in chemical products for the construc-

tion industry. Just three years later, in 1980, the company extended its opera-

tions to include printing and coating materials for decorative and industrial end

products.

The growth was strengthened and sustained with the foundation of Triflex KG in

1984. At the same time, Follmann also began the transfer of its chemical opera-

tions for the construction industry to its new subsidiary and further specialization

in waterproofing and coating systems, infrastructure and marking materials. Foll-

mann and Triflex both operate under the umbrella of Follmann Chemie GmbH.

Today, the company’s shareholders are Dr Rainer Follmann and his son Dr Henrik

Follmann.

The owner-managed company from Northwest Germany has already been very

International wallpaper competence

Follmann as worldwide unique full-range provider of all products for wallpaper finishing has been leading the European market for nearly 40 years. In Germany as well as in Europe, Follmann pro-vides wallcovering products to all world-renowned manufacturers of wallpapers, e.g. Rasch, AS Cre-ation, P+S international.

The company is active member in numerous international associations such as e.g. Global Wall-coverings Association (IGI), German Wallpaper Industry (VDT), Russian Wallpaper Manufacturer (Rosoboi) and China Wallcovering Association (CADBM). In this network, Follmann brings in its long-term competence and experience in the fields of wallpaper coatings and supports the deve-lopment of new technologies and innovative products.

Follmann is founding member of “wallpaper competence” network, together with the companies Ahlstrom, Merck, M-Design, Saueressig and SPGPrints. For many years now, this network has been working in close cooperation, and is committed to driving forward innovations in the wallpaper de-sign sector. This includes the continuous further development of products, manufacturing options and designs. Wallpaper printing inks• Screen printing: good chemical stability, batch stability, scratch-resistant, washable, long opening hours, and stable and fine particle size distribution, for rotary screen printing of various high mesh numbers

• Gravure and flexographic printing: good stability, good printing transferability, cost-effective

Texture printing inksVisual and tangible 3D structures for gravure or screen printing, e.g. acrylic foams and PVC plastisols.

Pigment preparationsSpecial pigment pastes are available for colouring PVC plastisols. Moreover, Follmann offers compact and foaming PVC plastisols, scatter granules and laminating adhesives.

Brilliant resultsNot all inks are equally suitable for all materials. Different print materials require different ink propertiesin terms of brilliance, colour intensity, resistance and printing speed. Which ink should be applied to which type of substrate using which printing process?With the ranges FolCo® aQuaFleX FB, Ft and Fu, as well as FolCo aQuaSCreeN® FS, our product selection offers a variety of high-performance printing inks that meet many different requirements. They are suitable for flexographic, gravure and rotary screen printing on paper, non-woven and vinyl printing materials. The FolCo® aQuaFleX Fu and FS 10 universal range is equally suitable for printing on both paper and vinyl. Depending on the type, our products are lightfast, highly thermally stable, highly was-hing-resistant, suitable for hot-embossing on vinyl, suitable for inhibitor printing, water-based, and with normal to high pigment content. And of course, all of these products meet the colour-fastness criteria of the relevant European standards.

The pigment preparations of the brand FolCo® lor Fep were developed specifically for the pigmentati-

on of PVC-plastisols used in the wallpaper industry, with the aim of achieving high colour

intensity, colour purity, very good lightfastness and migration resistance. All of our pastes can be

processed manually or in metering equipment.
