Health and accident insurance is mandatory, you have 3 months to get an insurance
If you have the European Health Insurance Card you can get an exemption from the Swiss health insurance obligation -> application needed!
Privately insured residents of other countries may be exempt if their insurance company has signed «Form A» and coverage is sufficient
You will receive a letter (in German!) from the health authorities, asking you to provide proof of insurance coverage
If you don‘t apply for an exemption or get a Swiss insurance, the health authorities will assign you a mandatory insurance!!!
