May 3, 2020-Fourth   Sunday of Easter This Sunday we are invited to see the Lord as our Shepherd. In the Psalm and the second reading we see the Lord as the Good Shepherd, whom we should follow. Do we follow the Lord as our shepherd, our guardian? On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations, let us continue to pray for the countless individuals around the world who are in discernment to understand and know God's Plan for their life. Let us pray from the USCCB: "Open the hearts of Your children that they may discern Your Holy Will; inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ."

En el Salmo y segunda lectura vemos al Señor como buen pastor, que debemos seguir. ¿Seguimos al Señor como nuestro Pastor, nuestro guardián? En esta jornada mundial de oración por las vocaciones, sigamos orando por las innumerables personas del mundo que están en discernimiento para comprender y conocer el Plan de Dios para su vida. Oremos desde la Conferencia Episcopal: "abrir los corazones de tus hijos que ellos pueden discernir su Santa voluntad; inspirar en ellos un amor y deseo se entrega a servir a los demás en el nombre de tu hijo, Jesucristo."

PRAY FOR THOSE CALLED TO SHEPHERD OUR CHURCH. Especially let us pray for our Bishop Frank Caggiano. The title, “Bishop” means “Guardian.” In the New Testament Letters to Timothy and Titus, and in the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch from about 100A.D., the qualities of a bishop are described. He can trace his consecration and call back to one of the 12 Apostles. He depends upon his deacons as much as upon his priests. His responsibility is great, and his burden is heavy. He needs our constant prayers.
