Widest selection in the oilfieldFMC offers the most complete line of

standard service and sour gas wing unionswith sizes ranging from 1- to 12-inches indiameter with working pressures up to 20,000psi. Unions are available with line pipe ortubing threads, butt-weld, or nonpressure-thread seal end connections.

Positive sealing designsWeco wing union seals vary according to

pressure and application. All wing unionsprovide positive, pressure-tight sealing.

For low-pressure services (1,000 to 2,000psi), the spherical surface of the male sub andthe conical surface of the female sub form ametal-to-metal seal. This ball-and-cone sealremains leak-proof even when one surface isslightly pitted or misaligned.

Most medium-pressure models (2,000 to4,000 psi) supplement the metal-to-metal sealwith a resilient O-ring in the male sub.

Weco high-pressure unions (6,000 to20,000 psi) feature a replaceable, lip-typeseal ring in the female sub. This primaryseal protects the secondary metal-to-metalseal from abrasion and corrosion whileminimizing flow turbulence.

The Weco nonpressure-thread sealoption is designed for abrasive, high-pressure applications where weldedconnections are undesirable. (Details onthis design can be found on page 6.)

Fast make-up and break-outThree-lug nuts and rugged self-locking

ACME threads provide fast make-up andbreak-out regardless of position or spacerestrictions. No special tools are required.

Simple identificationWeco standard service wing unions are

color coded for quick identification. Sourgas wing unions are stamped sour gasusing low-stress dot stamping and paintedwith a green, zinc-chromate primer unique tosour gas equipment.

Why you should standardize withWeco Original Wing Unions

Interchangeable partsAll Weco parts of the same size, pressure

rating, and figure number are interchangeable. This feature makes it easy to match male andfemale subs that are frequently made-up andbroken-out. And, because FMC makes everyWeco wing union to the same rigid standards, you get a quick and positive seal every time.

Rigid quality controlWeco unions are produced using the

finest raw materials, tooling procedures, andheat-treating techniques available. Each unionis carefully inspected to assure long, depend-able service in the most extreme conditions.

Weco wing unions, like all pressurecontaining equipment, require special care anduse. See the inside back cover for completeinformation.

Sour gas serviceFMC manufactures Weco sour gas

wing unions in accordance with theNational Association of CorrosionEngineers (NACE) Standard MR-01-75and American Petroleum Institute (API)Standard RP-14E. These outstanding, field proven unions are specially heattreated for controlled hardness. For fast, sure identification, each Weco sour gas

union is stamped sour gas using low-stress dot stamping and painted with agreen zinc-chromate primer that is uniqueto sour gas equipment. FMC usesfluoroelastomer seals or O-rings in all sourgas unions, but does not warrant theperformance of any elastomer for sour gasservice. An epoxy thread-locking compound isused to secure the connection. All threadsare isolated from the line fluid by the sealring, and the smooth bore assures mini-mum turbulence, decreases washouts, andreduces chemical, acid, sand, or cementbuild-up around the pipe ends. Connec-tion threads are API round tubing threadsfor extra strength. Nonpressure-threadseal configurations are available in Figures602, 1002, and 1502 wing unions.

Refer to FMC product catalogs, product brochures and installation, operating and maintenance manuals for additionalproduct safety information or contact FMC at 800/772-8582.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!

    1. Do not mix or assemble components, parts or end connections with different pressure ratings.

Mismatched parts may fail under pressure.

    2. Do not use or substitute non FMC components or parts in FMC products and assemblies.

    3. Do not strike, tighten or loosen pressurized components or connections.

    4. Do not exceed the rated working pressure of the product.

    5. Complete and proper make-up of components and connections is required to attain rated working pressure.

    6. Do not use severely worn, eroded or corroded products. Contact FMC for more information on how to

identify the limits of erosion and corrosion.

    7. Follow safe practices when using products in overhead applications. Products not properly secured

    could fall.

    8. Select only appropriate product and materials for the intended service:

Do not expose standard service products to sour gas fluids. (Refer to NACE MR-0175.)

Do not interchange sour gas components with standard service components.

Use appropriate safety precautions when working with ferrous products in below freezing temperatures.

Freezing temperatures lower the impact strength of ferrous materials.

    9. Follow manufacturers instructions and Material Safety Data Sheet directions when using solvents.

    10. Make certain that personnel and facilities are protected from residual hazardous fluids before disassembly

    of any product.

    11. If any leakage is detected from FMC products, take them from service immediately to prevent potential

    damage and personal injury.

    SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The applications of FMC products are in working environments where general personnel safety procedures and
