We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

SHARING OUR HEARTS WITH GOD Following each petition, God’s people respond:

Leader: Loving God, People: Hear our prayer.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

BRINGING OUR GIFTS TO GOD

Offertory “See Amid the Winter Snow” arr. Dan Forrest

Alleluia.

See amid the winter’s snow, born for us on earth below, See, the tender Lamb appears, promised from eternal years.

Hail, thou ever blessed morn, Hail, redemption's happy dawn, Sing through all Jerusalem: “Christ is born in Bethlehem.”

Lo, within a manger lies He who built the lofty skies, He who, throned in light sublime, sits amid the cherubim.

Hail, thou ever blessed morn …

Sacred infant, all divine, what a tender love was Thine, Thus to come from highest bliss, down to such a world as this.

Hail, thou ever blessed morn …

Alleluia.

*Offertory Response (tune: Regent Square) Thank You God, for Your Creation

Thank you, God, for your creation; Bless, O Lord, these gifts we bring. Thank you, God, for Christ the Savior, your own precious offering. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Bless, O Lord, these gifts we bring.

RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD

*HYMN No. 144 In the Bleak Midwinter

*PROFESSING OUR FAITH Nicene Creed (Ecumenical Translation)

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
