Noel was a Papermill Play House Rising Star nominee in 2003 for Les Miserables. Noel is thrilled to be working with the students of Cherry Hill East. She is delighted to see students acquiring costuming and sewing

skills that will be useful to them throughout their lives. Noel holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a New Jersey School Nurse Certificate. She holds a full time position as a school nurse for YALE Schools. As always, Noel would like to thank all the parent volunteers for their assistance with the big endeavor of creating costumes for The Skin of our Teeth.

PAT SCHANZ (Hair Stylist) was a School Support

Assistant at Cherry Hill East for many years, but retired to North Carolina. While working at East, Pat volunteered her time doing hair and make-up for all the drama productions. Despite her change of address, she continues to travel back to Cherry Hill to help with all our plays. It is a true testament to her dedication that Pat still gives our students

her “professional” attention to detail. Pat also volunteers her time with hair and make-up in North Carolina, where she recently assisted in a production of MULAN. She also has a number of professional credits doing hair and make-up for commercials and feature films. We warmly welcome back Pat and thank her once again for being part of our Drama Production Staff.

CINDY MUSUMECI (Hair/Make-up Stylist) began her

career in the entertainment industry as a runway model for the famous clothing designer Valentino. She comes from a family of professional actors. Her grandmother and grandfather were accomplished Broadway actors and toured the United States in many professional shows. Cindy's mother has also performed and directed professionally in New York. At East, Cindy has

volunteered and worked the past thirteen years as the hair and make-up stylist for all the drama productions. She has also worked professionally in the film industry ,as a hair and make-up coordinator for commercials and feature films. Cindy continues to model professionally at fashion shows in the Philadelphia/New York area. She thoroughly enjoys working with the East students and loves the drama department.

Cherry Hill East’s production of

GYPSY in March of 1978 marked

the inception of “The Thespian Mir-

ror” as the program magazine for

productions at Cherry Hill School

East produced by the International

Thespian Society. The name

is borrowed from the historical doc-

ument discovered while researching

in Theatre History classes. First

published in 1805, the original was a

critical journal by a young aspiring

actor, John Howard Payne, who

from the age of 14 and or the next 20

years became well known as a per-

former, playwright, and critic. He

wrote 50-60 plays during his career.

Of these, the best known

include BRUTUS (1818) and

CHARLES II (1824). He holds the

prestigious position in history as

America’s first internationally suc-

cessful dramatist.

Our program title seems

fitting then as young aspiring actors

before you tonight strive for the suc-

cess which Payne proved possible

even as a child prodigy and since we

subscribe to Aristotle’s philosophy

that good theatre must truly “mirror”

our existence.

We proudly celebrate 30

years of MIRROR as the program

magazine for our mainstage produc-

tions. We thank our advertisers for

making this what it is today!
