These 3 areas are always shaped with Core profile, Sidecut and the Rocker/Camber in mind at the same time, so everything works together for the ultimate ride: • Under the binding areas are shaped for added grip and strength since this is where all energy originates. Construction is strongest here, it always has camber under the bindings, and the sidecut is always the most aggressive in the binding area. • Between the bindings area is shaped for natural torsional freedom. Too much torsion and the board will feel sluggish. Construction is designed for freedom, and it either has rocker or is flat for easier riding, additional grip, and better performance in pow and icy conditions. • Tip/Tail transition areas. If it’s too aggressive, the board is difficult in rougher conditions. Too mellow and you wash out. ALL THE TECHNOLOGY YOU CAN HANDLE & MORE!

2011-12 brings in expanded Whiskey technology using Basalt, revolutionary carbon designs and forever perfecting the art of shap-

ing a board for the perfect ride. Flow has a long history of having some of the best riding and most durable boards on the market.

These 3 areas are always shaped with Core profi le, Sidecut and the Rocker/Camber in mind at the same time, so everything works together

for the ultimate ride:

• Under the binding areas are shaped for added grip and strength since this is where all energy originates. Construction is strongest here, it

always has camber under the bindings, and the sidecut is always the most aggressive in the binding area.

• Between the bindings area is shaped for natural torsional freedom. Too much torsion and the board will feel sluggish. Construction is

designed for freedom, and it either has rocker or is fl at for easier riding, additional grip, and better performance in pow and icy conditions.

• Tip/Tail transition areas. If it’s too aggressive, the board is diffi cult in rougher conditions. Too mellow and you wash out. We slightly de-

camber the tips, tone down the sidecut and core profi le for a better ride whether you’re ripping ice, pow, or pressing a box.

Flow has a long history of having some of the best riding and most durable boards on the market.

{FIELD NOTES}EZ-ROCK Super mellow reverse camber combined with a convex base for the railyard for easy riding without the edge catching. This is combined with camber starting before the binding area, providing stability, easy presses and agility, no matter where you mount your bindings.

I-ROCK Reverse camber combined with a convex base for a more natural feel on rails and smoothness in the chop. This, in combination with camber starting before the binding area, provides stability and camber-like pop no matter where you mount your bindings. The I-Rock combines a surfy feel with pop and stability.

POW-ROCKIf you prefer more waist-deep conditions, Pow-Rock is what you want. Pow-Rock utilizes two cambered areas and a long mellow reverse camber with a convex base to maximize your surface area and oat in the deep stuff while adding more pop and better stability in all conditions.

POP_CAM Our Pop-Cam is a three-phase camber to make the most fun cambered snowboard on the market. Under the feet is a traditional camber that is at between the bindings for added grip on ice, better oat in the pow and to lock onto rails, while the tips are mellow for a more forgiving ride. Pop where you need it!

shaping TechnologiesAll sidecuts, rocker, camber, and core profiles are designed together to focus energy to the binding areas, relaxing the nose/tail transition area and creating a more energetic ride.

TruTwinThe TruTwin is the essence of shape for a park board. Equidistant amounts of nose and tail allow a rider equal opportunity to ride their natural direction or switch.

Directional TwinThe directional twin has the exact same shape of the nose and tail, but with setback inserts and a core pro le for snap off the tail and a more forgiving nose in crud and pow.

DirectionalWith a little more nose than tail, a setback insert pattern and ex for more performance and better oat in powder, the directional boards in our line thrive in any terrain. From the park to the pipe to the pow, the directional twin takes shape to do it all.

shapes:

fiber reinforcements:New, fl atter fi berglass adds more pop, wastes less epoxy and creates a stronger, longer lasting snowboard while decreasing weight. Precured Carbon reduces epoxy waste while channeling energy in the areas needed.

Whiskey ShooterAll New Whiskey Shooter uses 4 precured carbon plates with a unique shape that tapers into the tips in a reverse “V” for the most pop without chatter while freeing up the nose and tail for any transition, rough terrain, and heavy pressing.

Whiskey BarsAll New Whiskey Bars is a custom V-design using 4 precured carbon plates that loads up the pop without adding stiffness thru a unique shape. Design is aided with a tapered shape towards the nose and tail which increases stability at the highest speeds without chattering through the chunder.

Quadrax (Formulated Fiber Reinforcement)The 0/+30/-30/90 berglass & carbon orientation increases pop with the majority of bers running tip-to-tail giving you stability and torsional freedom between the feet while distributing binding pressure over a larger area from the 30 degree axis bers for a more natural exing ride that can’t be reached with Triax.

Biaxial (0/90 degrees)A smooth, easy, torsional feel, the majority of the bers are in the 0 axis to add extra pop and an easy torsional ex to the board. Easy carving for all-mountain or park performance.

Optix 2000A high-density, extruded base that is extremely easy to maintain and x. The Optix 2000 is one of the highest wax-absorbing bases on the market and will give you all the speed you need even if you don’t wax on a regular basis.

Sintered 4000Speed, wax absorption and durability are the main ingredients of the Sintered 4000. This is done through focusing on quality over speed-robbing additives. For an even faster base, the Graphite Sintered 4000 only has speed on its mind.

Power to your feet for a more responsive and smoother ride that adds life to the board by increasing strength in the binding areas.

Whiskey XEvery line and arc is designed to improve effortless carving, quicker response, a smoother ride and increase the power under your feet. The uniquely shaped Titanal plates for power, doubling the breaking strength and giving you a Cadillac feel in the binding area. This is linked together with a bamboo bridge that allows freedom so both bindings work harmonically together. Ride faster, harder, and with less effort.

Whiskey RoyaleWhiskey Royale technology utilizes Biax Fiberglass beneath the heel and toe areas of the binding, eliminating chatter and making for a smoother ride. By directing the glass toward the edge, we increase the edge hold while allowing for quicker, easier turn initiation and delivering a responsive ride and increasing the life of the board.

Whiskey RocksAll new Whiskey Rocks tech increases agility while adding pop and grip. Four Basalt plates beneath the heel and toe areas directs the rider’s energy to the board’s key control surfaces and doubles the breaking strength to increase edge hold in all conditions with a Cadillac feel.

ReFlex CoreFlow’s lightest and most responsive core gives you the highest strength-to-weight wood construction known to man. Focused response where you need it, and more low-to-mid-density woods in speci c locations throughout the board increase strength while decreasing weight, and make your ride all that much easier.

TruFlex CoreSimilar to the ReFlex core, TruFlex core technology features a high strength-to-weight wood construction utilizing different density poplar woods uniquely pro led to give you excellent all-around response when riding the mountain.

cores:All Flow cores use durable woods that provide the lightest strength-to-weight ratio. Too light and the board loses its life and breaks easier. Our focus is to have a strong yet agile riding core since it’s the skeleton of the board. The profi le determines the ride and the pop, so every board goes through a long cycle of designing to ensure the best profi le for the rocker, camber and sidecut.

(Dual Transitional)The DT Sidecut utilizes a combination of two radii.

First, a tight radius for quick, responsive carves is

blended into a mellow radius right before the nose and

tail of the board for rough terrain, high speeds and the

forgiveness you need while jumping.

(Progressive Dual Transitional)One of the most complex designed sidecuts on the

market that provides a natural carve with a progressive

feel, the PDT uses years of experience. We were one

of the rst companies to use a slight reverse radius at

the binding areas. This year’s PDT adds a slight reverse

sidecut at the binding areas with progressive sidecut that

is mellow just at the tips and between the feet. The ulti-

mate combo with Pow-Rock adds grip between and at

the binding areas.

(EZ Dual-Transitional) Sidecut designed around our rocker boards, the EZDT is

mellow between the bindings and at the tips with a more

aggressive grip in the binding areas. This creates a more

forgiving ride when things get a bit bumpy, and a tight

radius blended for quick, snappy, powerful carving.

BOA®

We work closely with the BOA® crew to make sure that every boot that we make follows their recommended con-fi guration and delivers a friction-free custom fi t with every spin of the reel. BOA® technology has revolutionized lacing, but we take it one step further with our Flow patented Spacer System, which eliminates over-tightening.

LaceThere is a reason that many professional riders still prefer traditional laced boots. When it comes to customized fi t and micro-adjustability, a standard lacing system is almost unparalleled. Time proven and easy to use, we’ve built upon our past successes and delivered on this promise to stay true to the roots for those diehards among us.

QuickFit™Based on patented and proven technol-ogy, QuickFit™ is Flow’s very own solution to zonal lacing. New and improved this year with a new cleat as well as Flow patented Spacer System lace protectors, QuickFit™ delivers the very best in fi t customization.

Flow bindings are different, and that is exactly what makes them better. When you stray from the norm, you push forward with new ideas, new technology, and in essence, Flow created a new product that out-performs everything else on the market. Flow is the originator of the “Speed Entry” binding, and since its incep-tion, other brands out there have tried to jump on the bandwagon and imitate what we’ve perfected, but it just doesn’t work. Performance, comfort and convenience: That’s the total package you get when you go with Flow.

NXT-Series (FSE, FRX, ATSE, AT, Prima-SE)With forged Aluminum alloy and fiber-reinforced components, the NXT models are the most structurally sound and powerful of any bind-ing system out there on the market. The control that the NXT provides matches the power and comfort that you’ll feel once you strap your feet into them. A rockered aluminum baseplate allows for more flex, a better feel and an overall outstanding ride while eliminating pressure points that some two-strap systems can cause.

M-Series (M9, M11, M9-SE, Essence)Flow’s high-performance, luxury model binding offers all the bells and whistles to the rider who prefers the feel of a molded plastic baseplate. With “Snug-fit” design, the connection between board, boot and binding is as precise as it has ever been and makes for a smooth ride across the board, while the fiber reinforced Nylon in the baseplate and the Ventilated hiback make the M-Series one of the most responsive bindings in Flow’s hierarchy.

H-Series (The FIVE, FIVE-SE, Trilogy, Quattro-SE, Minx-SE, Muse)A slightly softer baseplate and Ventilated hiback in the H-Series makes for a mellow ride while still eliminating those bumps on the groomers, and Flow’s “PowerBridge” design gives you the stiffness and responsiveness you demand from a binding. The baseplate is also slightly wider to accommodate boots with a larger footprint, and provide a stable platform on your board. The H-Series is affordable, comfortable and reliable. What more could you ask for in a binding?

Flite Series (Flite 2, Flite 2W, Flite 1, Haylo)The Flow Flite Series are designed for the beginner to intermediate rider and will hold up in even the toughest conditions with Flow’s injected DuPont Delrin (POM). For the soon-to-be superstar, this binding series will stand up to most anything you can throw at it and is also flexible enough to lend your feet some much-needed comfort when you need it most.

Micron Series (Micron Small and XS)Built for the young guns that are almost ready to kick into Flow’s adult line, the Micron Series assures that the little guys and girls are given everything they need to go big. A symmetrical design ensures that no matter what their stance is, they’ll be all ready to go once set up on their stick, and a moderately soft flex makes sure that their ever-growing feet will be nice and comfy all day long.

Understanding the Flow binding line is almost as easy as it is to ride the products themselves. From top to bottom, every binding has its own features that are designed to work together in harmony while utilizing state-of-the-art graphics. There are various series’ of Flow bindings, and every single one of them is prepared for all-mountain destruction. We’re sure that there’s something in the following pages that will not only catch your eye and fit your budget, but that will help you progress your riding skills in absolute luxury.

Pg_24_53.indd 41 12/1/10 11:13 PM

Page 16: Flow Snowboarding Board, Boots, Binding Technology

All of Flow’s baseplates are uniquely engineered to transmit energy from the hiback and PowerTriangle cable directly to the board, without loss of efficiency, but also without loss of the natural feel of a board. How we do this? By utilizing the most ap-propriate materials for each level of rider–like DuPont glass-filled Zytel Nylons or T6 heat-treated aluminum–but also by reduc-ing the actual footprint of the binding. The minimized contact area with the board channels your power where it needs to go, while the rocker corners of the baseplate allow your board to flex naturally. This works on all types of boards, and Flow uses this fundamental design on all baseplate designs, even our alumi-num ones! Another Flow exclusive ingredient.

hIbaCk TEChnoLoGyFlow’s hibacks are a pivotal part in the Flow technology…no pun intended. Not only do they fully recline so you can get in and out of a Flow binding faster and with no hassle or sitting down on cold snow, but they also transfer your energy directly through to the baseplate and the board. You will notice Flow hibacks look a lot different too: The tops are quite flat, allowing ample lateral movement for that feel of freedom that snowboard-ing should give (and tweaking out tricks), while the PowerTriangle cable efficiently picks up the energy from the hiback.

• Flite hiback: The Flite hiback reduces weight and gives more all-around flex. A re-sponsive design that is perfect for all types of riding. The DuPont POM material provides a perfect balance of flex and support.

• Ventilated hiback: All hibacks on the H-series and M-series feature an integrated back flare at the lower edge. This virtually eliminates any risk of the hiback catching on the heel of the boot when getting out, and it also serves to stiffen the overall hiback structure through enhanced 3D shaping.

• NXT hiback: This NXT-series hiback shares the design and features of the Ventilated hiback, but it also features our Kush-Control wrapped hiback pad. This hiback pad in-creases comfort and dampening, but the uniquely shaped 3D surface also adds drive to the lateral side for more powerful turns or presses.

• Modular hiback: By separating the hiback into 3 different zones and selecting the ideal materials, the modular hiback delivers fine-tuned performance and is lightweight. A three-step rotation adjustment allows for customized hiback alignment to the heel edge, and some models offer our exclusive OC-Kush gel-kushioning in the wrapped hiback pad.

Giving you more feel and more comfort, the 3D PowerStrap increases power going into and

coming out of turns while distributing pressure over a wider area. And you don’t have to crank

a PowerStrap down as tight as you would with traditional two-strap designs, so your feet

will maintain good blood circulation resulting in less cramps, less fatigue, and less cold feet!

I-Flex Strap:• Ideal flex for freestylers and all-mountain riders.• 3D molded core and internal multiple-panel frame for precise form-fitting to any type of boot.

• Deep side cutouts for freedom of movement.

A-Flex Strap:• Lateral asymmetry at the top for true all-mountain and freeride support and drive.• 3D molded core and internal multiple-panel frame for precise formfitting to any type of

boot.• Moderate side cutouts for more response.

Composite I-Flex (CI-Flex) Strap:• Ideal support for all-mountain riders.• 3D molded core and internal single-panel frame for formfitting to any type of boot.• Slim construction to reduce bulk while enhancing overall flex and support.

We know every rider has his or her own dialed-in stance, forward lean, and foot support preferences –that individualism is what rid-ing is all about. Flow designs have addressed every aspect of the ideal personalized fit between rider and board, and once you’ve set them up to your preference it’s simply “KICK, LOCK & DROP” every time you go riding:

1. Locking Airframe MINIratchet buckles provide micro-adjustment of the 3D PowerStrap.

2. Synchronous Length Adjustment (SLA) allows for hiback centering & rotation while maintaining ideal PowerTriangle geometry for every hiback position.

3. “Free+” Snaplock for tool-less forward-lean micro-adjustment, with-out even getting out of your bindings!

4. Flow’s Combi-disk for both 4x4 and 3HP hole patterns, plus both stance width and toe-heel offset adjustability.

5. Separate Channel-M6 disks are available for all current Flow models.

6. Adjustable landing pads optimize boot to board energy transfer and provide amazing foot support.
