College Degree in any field - Regional airlines in the US will usually require a minimum of
an Associate Degree. Major airlines in the US will usually require a minimum of a four year
Bachelors Degree. Major airlines in many other countries also prefer their flight crew to
have a degree.
Consider non core aviation fields such as Elec / Mech Engineering, IT, & Bsc Teaching degree etc. to broaden
your job prospects in the event of not securing a cadetship, being furloughed during a downturn, or you
lose your medical etc.

EMPHASIZING CREW RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.
Extensive use is made of flight simulators. Before commiting to a MPL program consider:
1. Whether your particular MPL program is airline specific
2. What options you have if the airline releases you before you
have accumulated 1500 hrs3. Whether you are qualified
to fly charters, bank runs etc if you lose your FO positionBuild real world Pilot In Command (PIC) time
and develop experience before considering instructing (To be fair to your students,
then only if you have the right attitude & aptitude). Build hours flying sight seeing /
charter / freight / glider tug / parachute drop / traffic report / bank runs etc
Possibly build hours flying a sailplane / glider tow plane. To do this you will most likely require a tail
wheel endorsement and a glider / sailplane license. COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE,
