I am away. By the time I get up to the park, Chris, Terence, Luz or the rest of the crew have already managed

to wrangle Mabel IIb back onto its perch. A ratchet strap holds the kite together.

The only evidence of its flight are the newly dislocated spars and a couple of torn flags.

In a week it all comes apart, compressed into three five-gallon buckets of aluminum, PVC flags, nylon joints.
