How many sessions will you attend every week?
Why not set yourself a target?
We will be running some Flexible Learning trips this year . You must be
attending FL clubs and intervention to attend these trips.
Make sure your name is down on your club sign-in sheet so that you
don’t miss out!
Competition Time!
We will be giving out House points to the
House that has been attending the most FL
each half term.
Which House will come out on top?
How can you help?
Please discuss the enclosed timetable of activities with your child and encourage them to
participate in as many sessions as possible. Try to look for opportunities to attend
intervention sessions or participate in enrichment activities. Reading at home is a good way
to improve pupil literacy and should be encouraged. In addition, there are a wide range of
websites and APPs available to support pupil learning. These include BBC Bite-size/My
Maths/S-cool/Moodle.
Flexible Learning Projects (FLPs)
These are an opportunity for pupils to develop their learning outside the classroom, through
a series of bespoke projects. The projects are cross-curricular and aim to develop pupils’
knowledge and skills. Each project is designed to encourage independent learning,
creativity, time management and organisational skills. It is hoped that pupils will utilise the
facilities in the Hub to help present their work. We also welcome parental input and try to
make each project interesting and challenging.
Further Learning
‘Further Learning’ is learning that takes place outside of the classroom when pupils are at
home. Each half term, pupils will receive a ‘Further Learning’ booklet with a wide variety of
suggested, subject specific activities which they can select from. The second booklet will be
Issued this half term.
FLPs this half term:
Year 7 = Maths project (Party Time)
Year 8 = Treasure Island (cross-curricular project)
