Combining a precision multi-spectral IR sensing array withhighly intelligent neural network processors, the FL4000Hreliably discriminates between actual flames and nuisancefalse alarm sources (such as arc welding or hot objects).

How MSIR/NNT Flame Detection WorksThe FL4000H is a highly discriminating MSIR/NNT detector,which makes use of multiple infrared sensors sampling differentIR spectrum wavelengths. Each detector's analog sensorsignals are sampled and converted into digital format forsignal pre-processing to extract time and frequency data.
The time and frequency information are used by theFL4000H's proprietary neural network classificationalgorithm to identify if input IR signals are emitted froma flame or non-flame source. The flame or non-flamedecision is then reported as an output via LEDs, relays,HART and /or Modbus.
With its NNT flame discrimination algorithm, the FL4000His highly immune to false alarms. COPM (ContinuousOptical Path Monitoring) self-diagnostic circuitry checksthe optical path (window cleanliness) and the detector'scircuitry every two minutes. Serial ports allow up to 128units (247 using repeaters) to be linked to a host computerusing the Modbus RTU protocol.
