How it works?

External magnetic induction lamps are essentially fluorescent lamps, they use gas to produce white light; the difference is how this gases unite.

While fluorescent lamps use electrodes, induction lamps use a magnetic field created with electromagnets wrapped around a section of the lamp tube.

Just as high quality fluorescent lamps, they offer instant start and restart, excelent color rendering, 80+ CRI, high power factor and low THD.

High frequency energy, from the electronic ballast, is sent through wires, which are wrapped in a coil around the ferrite inductor, creating a powerful magnet.

The induction coil produces a very strong magnetic field which travels through the glass and excites the mercury atoms in the interior which are provided by a pellet of amalgam (a solid form of mercury).

The mercury atoms emit UV light and, just as in a fluorescent tube, the UV light is up-converted to visible light by the phosphor coating on the inside of the tube. The system can be considered as a type of transformer where the inductor is the primary coil while the mercury atoms within the envelope/tube form a single-turn secondary coil.

El choque de gas argón con las moléculas controladas de mercurio en estado gaseoso, transforma la energía en radiación ultravioleta. La capa de trifósforo convierte la radiación ultravioleta producida (0,4%) en luz visible.

• Las lámparas de inducción magnética alcanzan una vida útil de hasta 100.000 horas, es decir, más de 4 veces la vida útil de lámparas HID.

Visiblelightandthescotopic/phopic(S/P)RatioRecent research has discovered that the lumen alone may not be the best way to show how the eye perceives the power of light. Our eyes use both rods and cones to see light, rods are more sensitive to blue light (scotopic vision) and cones to yellow light (photopic vision). The present use of the lumen is based on the assumption that the cones in the eye are the chief light perceivers, this research shows that the human eye relies more than previously believed on its rods, the light that stimulates the rods in the eye is known as a Pupil lumen. Scotopic/photropic ratios have been developed that attempt to replicate a measurement system more akin to how our eyes perceive brightness. By designing lights to stimulate the rods and the cones, it is entirely possible to use far less wattage to illuminate a space.

All our equipment is CE, TUV, FCC or UL approved and manufactured with approved components. Americanlite® reserves the right to change or improve the design or components of any of its prod-ucts due to parts availability or changes in standards, without assuming any obligation to modify any product previously manufactured and without notice. All equipment is tested and inspected before shipment.

This warranty is void if the product is operated outside of its normal operating conditions. The foregoing warranty does not apply to failures caused by acts of God or as a result of any abuse, misuse, abnormal use, or use in violation of any applicable standard, code or instructions for use in installations, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Standards for the International Electrotechnical Commission. Americanlite® reserves and has the right to examine failed fixtures to determine the cause of failure, excessive lumen depreciation and patterns of usage.
