Form of Writing
A poet expresses his or her emotions by writing a poem that relates to sight, smell, taste, sound, and touch. It usually contains five lines and sometimes includes similes and metaphors. This type of poem is called Five-Senses Poetry.

Stage of Writing
Prewriting is known as the getting ready to write stage. It is important to think about your ideas before you start writing. During the prewriting stage, you will choose a topic, consider purpose, form, and audience.

Students will think about their five senses. Then, students will think about their classroom. Finally, as a class we will complete a graphic organizer that pertains to our five senses and the classroom.
