The five-star structure makes the hierarchy of the events within the World Tour clearer to level and quality of venue, technology and infrastructure, prize money, world ranking points, TV and digital production and broadcasting. Each event will fulfil specific criteria set by the FIVB depending on the star ranking in order to ensure consistency across the World Tour for each category.

FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (FIVB WT) is the only circuit in the World featuring Elite events with the participation of the best professional athletes in the World. This FIVB World property is held seasonally and falls across 2 years and is crowned by the FIVB World Tour Finals defining the FIVB World Tour Finals Champion. The new 5-star event categories, under the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, aim to grow the sport based on a sustainable business model with flexible commercial rights. All FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour events benefit of FIVB’s endorsement and pave the “road to Tokyo 2020” in the Olympic Qualification period (two years before the Olympic Games from june 2018 to june 2020). This overview is merely provided for informational purposes. A party interested in organising a World Tour event must express its intention throught the

candidature conditions and subsequently execute an organiser agreement with the FIVB.

CANDIDATURE CONDITIONS

Sending to the FIVB all the followings documents by the 30 of June: General questionnaire (see enclosed) Local authorities letter of support (see enclosed)

+ if possible a: Venue layout Color pictures of the area hosting the event Tentative budget (link to FIVB.org excel file)

Once the candidature is accepted an agreement (Letter of Organisation) must be signed by the Local Organising Committee (LOC/Promoter) and the FIVB. LOC may be a National Federation (NF) or/and a Promoter or/and an investor. The event is then inserted in the seasonal calendar. Possibly until the 2020/2021 season. However, the FIVB may accept to sign an agreement for less seasons depending by the category of the event.

COST OF THE ACCOMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION OF FIVB DELEGATES AND TEAMS

Organiser covers local transportation and accommodation for the assigned FIVB officials and participating teams: single room for each official, while double room per main draw Team. For 1-star event each team is responsible to borne its board and logging costs. Hotel night calculation shall differ based on the competition format.

the price money is from a minimum of USD 25,000 to a maximum of USD 50,000.

COMMERCIAL BENEFITS

FIVB owns the commercial rights to the “World Tour” and the tournaments composing the “World Tour”. The FIVB license certain rights and benefits to LOC defined in the Organizer Agreement with the purpose of securing the necessary funds to implement a successful event. The goal of this new structure is to allow the Organizer to have more ownership and control over commercial exploitation of the Tournament by providing the Organizer with a larger inventory of rights to be defined in the Organizer Agreement.

Regarding the selection of Local Sponsors

by the Organizer, the FIVB shall reserve the

following categories for its exclusive exploitation:

Beach volleyball balls; Betting and gambling services; Beach volleyball Sports equipment Cars and motor vehicles; Courier and logistics services; Personal care products; Time keeping Game related technology; Language learning solutions, and Banking
