• Inicia el impulso nerviosos que viajan a través de las vías visuales hasta la cisura calcarina
Contiene:
– Conos: visión en color
– Bastones: visión en oscuridad

a) Disco óptico
b) Macula
c) Retina periférica

La parte central de la fóvea 0.3mm diámetro
• Se compone casi por completo de conos

• 100 millones de bastones
• 3 millones de conos
• En la fóvea los conos
son finos de solo 1.5 micras
