Morning Prayer O Lord, open our lipsand our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Prayers of Penitence

Jesus says, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.’So let us turn away from our sin and turn to Christ,confessing our sins in penitence and faith.Lord God,we have sinned against you;we have done evil in your sight.We are sorry and repent.Have mercy on us according to your love.Wash away our wrongdoing and cleanse us from our sin.Renew a right spirit within usand restore to us the joy of your salvation;through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May the Father of all merciescleanse us from our sins,and restore us in his imageto the praise and glory of his name,through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Creed

The Creed

We believe in one God,the Father, the Almighty,maker of heaven and earth,of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,the only Son of God,eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,true God from true God,begotten, not made,of one Being with the Father;through him all things were made.For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven,was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Maryand was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;he suffered death and was buried.On the third day he rose againin accordance with the Scriptures;he ascended into heavenand is seated at the right hand of the Father.He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,

The priest introduces the Peace and then says

The Eucharistic (Thanksgiving) Prayer

The Lord be with you And also with you Lift up your hearts.We lift them to the Lord.Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.It is right to give thanks and praise.

The priest praises God’s mighty acts then we say together

Holy, holy, holy Lord,God of power and mightheaven and earth are full of your glory.Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna in the highest.

The priest recalls the actions of the Last supperIn response to the words Great is the mystery of faithall respond Christ has died Christ is risen Christ will come again

and at the end of the prayer we all say Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Let us pray with confidence as our Saviour has taught usOur Father, who art in heaven,hallowed be thy name;thy kingdom come;thy will be done;on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread.And forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us.And lead us not into temptation;but deliver us from evil.For thine is the kingdom,the power and the glory,for ever and ever.Amen.

Breaking of the Bread

The priest breaks the consecrated bread.As the bread is broken, we say

Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ,for all the benefits you have given me,for all the pains and insults you have borne for me.Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,I ask you to come spiritually into my heart.O most merciful redeemer, friend and brother,may I know you more clearly, love you more dearly,and follow you more nearly, day by day. O God,help me to trust you,help me to know that you are with me,help me to believe that nothing can separate me from your love revealed in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We pray for the whole human family,for peace, justice and freedom for all peopleand for the ending of warfare, civil strife,corruption and exploitation.Grant to all who are in positions of authority and powerand to their advisers, integrity and moral courageto seek and do what is right. Gracious Lord, we pray to you for all who are sick, those suffering from the Covid virus, all who face surgery and whose treatment is unpleasant.Be near to the broken-heartedand save those whose spirits are crushed.We pray for the work of all relief agenciesand especially for the International Red Cross,giving thanks for ·the relief and compassionit brings to so many people. There let it for thy glory burn with inextinguishable blaze, and trembling to its source return, in humble prayer and fervent praise.

Jesus, confirm my heart's desire to work and speak and think for thee; still let me guard the holy fire, and still stir up thy gift in me. Ready for all thy perfect will, my acts of faith and love repeat, till death thy endless mercies seal, and make the sacrifice complete.
