    Panel light control

    PANEL LIGHT CONTROL

    PUSH/ROTATE Captains control regulates the

    brightness of the integral instrument lighting in the Captain

    and center instrument panels and the displays and edge

    lighting of the Autopilot Flight Director Mode Control

    Panel

    First Officers control regulates First Officers panel and

    integral instrument lighting.

    GPWS CONTROLS

    GPWS INOPERATIVE LIGHT (amber)

    ILLUMINATEDGPWS computer malfunction orpower loss.

    Invalid inputs are being received from the radio altimeter, ADC, or

    ILS receiver with a MARK II GPWS computer installed; radioaltimeter, ADC, ILS receiver, IRS, FMC, Digital Stall Warning

    (Management) computers, or EFIS Control Panel with A MARK V

    GPWS computer installed.

    GROUND PROXIMITY SWITCH

    NORMAL (guarded position) Flapand

    landing gearposition logic is provided for

    Modes 2, 3, and 4.

    INHIBIT SWITCH Inhibits or cancels

    warnings/alerts caused by the flaps not in

    the 30 or 40 position (FLAP INHIBIT), or

    landing gear not down (GEAR INHIBIT).

    GROUND PROXIMITY SYSTEM TEST SWITCH

    MARK V GPWS Computer

    PRESS (momentary on the ground, or above 1000 feet radio altitude inflight)

    Illuminates the BELOWG/S, PULLUP, WINDSHEARand INOP Lights, displays the EADI

    WINDSHEAR message, and causes the GLIDE SLOPE, WHOOP, WHOOPPULLUP, and

    WINDSHEAR aurals to sound.

    PRESS (at least 10 seconds, on the ground)

    The above indications always occur first, followed byanyadditional aurals.

    The system test is inhibited from liftoff to 1000 feet radio altitude.

    WINDSHIELD/FOOT AIR CONTROLS

    Applies conditioned air to the No. 1 windows foranti-fogging.

    Applies conditioned air to the pilots leg position.

    Clock

    ELAPSED TIME (ET) CONTROL

    (spring-loaded to HLD)RESET - Returns the ET Display to

    zero time.

    HLD (Hold) Stops the ET Displayat

    the indicated time.

    RUNStarts the ET Display counting

    time. Continues to count from HLD

    time when selected back to RUN.

    TIME CONTROL

    Controls the Time/Date Display

    RUNStarts the Time/Date Display

    counting.

    HLD Y (Hold) Stops the Time/Date

    Display, sets seconds to zero, and

    advances years.

    SS M(Slow Slew) Advances the

    Time/Date Display minutes/months.

    ET/CHR DISPLAY

    Displays Elapsed Time or Chronograph Time.

    ET Display Range: zero to 99 hrs 59 min.

    CHR Display Range: zero to 99 min.

    DATE CONTROL

    Controls Date Display.

    PRESS Displays Date (DAY MO)alternating with YRat 1 second

    intervals.

    Allows date to be set with time control.

    TIME DISPLAY

    Display time in 24-hour format

    CHRONOGRAPH (CHR) CONTROL

    PRESS Controls the start, stopand

    reset functions of the CHR Displayand

    Second hand with successive pushoperations.

    Overrides any existing ET Displays.

    Controlled by the CHR Control.

    Altimeter

    PRIMARY ALTIMETER(electric)

    DIGITAL COUNTER

    Displays altitude in increments of thousands, hundreds and twenty feet.

    Warning flag appears whenever the ADC signal is lost or malfunction exists.

    Green flag appears in the left window when altitude is below 10,000 feet.

    A NEG flag appears in the two left-hand windows when altitude below zero feet is displayed.

    BAROMETRIC SETTING WINDOW

    Reflects barometric correction (in

    millibars and inches of mercuryas set bythe Barometric Setting Control.

    ALTITUDE POINTER

    Makes one revolution each one

    thousand feet.

    BAROMETRIC SETTING CONTROL

    ROTATE Adjusts the barometric correction in the

    Barometric Setting Window.

    REFERENCE ALTITUDE MARKER CONTROL

    Used to manually set the Reference Altitude marker.

    Unsafe terrain clearance when not in the

    landing configuration.

    BELOW GLIDE SLOPE ALERT

    LIGHT (amber)

    ILLUMINATED Airplane is more

    than 1.3 dots below the glide slope.

    PRESS Inhibits or cancels belowglide slope alerting ifpressed while

    in the alerting area.

    LOCALIZER POINTER AND DEVIATION SCALE (magenta/white)

    Pointer indicates localizerposition.

    Scale indicates deviation.

    When LOC is engaged and deviation is slightly more than one half dot scale expands.

    Pointer is blanked when ILS LOC signal is too weak to be usable.

    FLIGHT DIRECTOR COMMAND BARS (magenta)

    Displayed when respective FD switch is ON and valid

    command steering is available or during automatic

    operation of the FD.

    Blanked when the respective FD switch is OFF, or

    command steering becomes invalid.

    GLIDESLOPE POINTER AND DEVATION SCALE

    (magenta/white)

    Pointer indicates glideslope position.

    Scale indicates deviation.

    Pointer is not displayed when the glideslope signal is

    unusable or when trackand the front course on the MCP

    differ by more than 90o (back Course)

    DECSION HEIGHT (green)

    Displays selected decision height as set on the EFIScontrol panel when radio altitude is above 1000 feet

    AGL.

    Blank when negative DH is selected.

    RADIO ALTITUDE (white)

    Displays radio altitude below 2,500 feet AGL.

    Blanked above 2,500 feet AGL.

    Changes color from white to yellow when below selected

    DH on descent.

    Changes to white when passing selected DHplus 75 feet

    during go-around, after touchdown orafterpressing RST

    Switch on EFIS Control Panel.

    HORIZON LINE AND PITCH ANGLE SCALE

    (white)

    RISING RUNWAY (green)

    Displayed when LocalizerPointer is in view and radio

    altitude is valid.

    Rises towards airplane symbol when radio altitude is

    below 200 feet AGL.

    GROUNDSPEED (white)

    Displays FMC/IRS groundspeed in knots.

    CURRENT MACH (white)

    Displayed when MACH increases above .40 Mach.

    Display is blanked when Mach decreases below .38 Mach.

    AUTOPILOT DISENGAGE LIGHT (red/amber)

    Flashes red and tone sounds when autopilot has disengaged.

    Can be reset bypressing either disengage light or either A/P disengage switch.

    Steady red if: Stabilizer is out of trim below 800 feet on a dual channel approach.

    Altitude acquire mode is inhibited during an A/P go-around.

    (Stabilizer not trimmed fora single A/P operation).

    Test switch is held in position 2.

    Failure ofautomatic ground system tests.

    SteadyAmber when flight mode annunciator test switch held at position 1.

    Flashes Amber if A/Pautomatically reverts to CWSpitch or roll while in CMD.

    Resets when either light is pressed oranother mode engaged.

    A/TAutopilot controls and indicators

    AUTOTHROTTLE DISENGAGEMENT LIGHT (red/amber)

    FLASHING RED: Autothrottle has disengaged.STEADY RED: When flight mode annunciator test switch is held at position at position 2.

    STEADY AMBER: When flight mode annunciator test switch is held at position 1.

    FLASHING AMBER: Indicates A/T airspeed error if speed not held within +10 or 5 knots of commanded

    speed when all of following conditions exist:

    In Flight: Flaps not up, A/T engaged in MCPSPD, or FMC SPD mode.

    An automatic test of the A/T flashing amber function is performed if the A/T is engaged and following conditions

    exists:MCPSPD or FMC SPD is A/T active mode.

    More than 150 seconds after lift-off.

    Flaps Extended.

    A/T amber light flashes for 2 seconds, remains extinguished for 2 seconds and then flashes for 2 seconds again.
