EMPATHY MAP

SAYElectrical Engineer student, he will graduate at the end of this year.

He’s looking for opportunities on industrial segment companies (B2B), automation and/or electrical fields.

He had a preliminary “work” experience. He had 3 intern jobs, for a few mouths he has worked in industrial maintenance, projects of electrical equipments and with application engineering of automation systems.

He would like to understand more about his interesting areas, because in automation for example there are different fields to act. Right now he hasn’t a specific position in mind or even a company to start his career.

He is always looking to attend lectures with engineering professionals, additional courses with a focus in automation and electrical area, internet sources and family opinions to help to support his decisions.

In order to help the students, his college has a career area, this area has the responsibility to support and help students in all the questions about career, source for new opportunities, interview and resume tips.

He expects to work in a collaborative environment, without fixed standards, where new ideas has space and where he will have opportunity to develop his skills.

In his opinion he needs to improve some management and communications skills, mostly because he will get a technical degree.

THINK

He has some clear directions about his professional future.

He’s earlier intern jobs, was very important in order to help him to choose his job.

Considering his background and his preview experience he enjoys and want to work in technical environment.

As young man he has some doubts, but in my opinion he’s in the right way.

He has a good understanding about the tools and skills which are necessaries to be a competitive professional in the market.

FEEL

He is very anxious about his choices.

He is a shy person so it’s very important to enhance his communications skills.

I understand that the college needs to have some straight partnerships with companies, so it will be necessary special programs for students, considering job rotations for all areas, so the students it will have a multidisciplinary view. (based in his experience)

The family has an important part in his education and as a support for the professional area , in some aspects I felt him very confident.
