Now that we have reviewed coin values we will start to focus on adding coins.
Adding Coinso Adding means combining items to make a larger number or
amount.
o We count quarters by twenty-five because they are worth twenty-five cent apiece.
o We count dimes by tens because they are worth ten cent apiece.
o We count nickels by fives because they are worth five cent apiece.
o We count pennies by one because they are worth one cent apiece.
