Greetings from Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi!
It gives us immense pleasure to invite you for the 16th Biennial National Conference of Indian
Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health IACAMCON-2021 which is being
organized on 24-26th December, 2021 on virtual mode only by CIP, Ranchi in collaboration with
IACAM.
The theme for this conference is “Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Changing Times:
Opportunities and Challenges!"
As the world is passing through the unfathomable effect of the pandemic situation since 2019, indeed
a lot has changed and is evolving. It is taking its serious toll on the mental health of all especially our
young population which is the building block of our future.
This surely has posed numerous challenges and innumerable opportunities for the professional
community to address the changing needs of the community.
The conference has been organized amidst the uncertainties with which we all are dwelling with in
terms of concerns to our physical, mental, psychosocial, and economic health. We look forward to
your active participation in this scientific and academic endeavor and would definitely miss to host you
in person in the picturesque city of Ranchi and at the ‘mecca’ of mental health in the country, Central
Institute of Psychiatry.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstract Submission guidelines for Workshop/symposium
• Abstracts may be submitted for free paper (oral/poster), workshop and symposia presentations.
• Authors are asked to give their preference for the type of presentation, however, the decision of which
abstract to select for oral presentation will lie with the Scientific Committee (in conjunction with Vice
President and Secretary General, IACAM).
• Abstracts for free paper (oral/ poster), workshop and symposia should be submitted online only at the
e-mail given. Only abstracts submitted via e-mail will be reviewed for acceptance by
Secretary General, IACAM.
• Please refer to your abstract by number, title and presenting author in all correspondence regarding the
abstract.
• Abstracts are to be submitted in English only.
• REGISTRATION is mandatory for the presenting author of Free Paper/Poster to present the paper in
IACAMCON-2021.
• For Symposia/Workshop, all speakers need to be registered.
• All presenting authors, speakers of symposia/workshop must register before 30th November 2021 for
their Paper/Symposia/Workshop to be included in the Final programme.
Free Paper (Oral/Poster)
• Abstracts of only completed work are to be submitted.
• Please enter the name of the presenting author and contact information (institution name, full postal
address, e- mail, phone number).
• Underline the name of presenting author. Give full names of all authors and affiliations- department,
institution/ hospital, city, state.
• Abstract title should be limited to 25 words in UPPER CASE.
• The length of the abstract body should not exceed 300 words. Count does not include title or authors.
• The abstract should have 3-5 keywords.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
• All abstracts must be submitted in English and in word format under the following headings:
o Background/Introduction (indicate the purpose of the study or hypothesis that was tested)
o Methodology/ Materials and Methods (include the setting, study design, the subjects, and the type of
statistical analysis)
o Results (present as clearly as possible the outcome of the study and statistical significance as
appropriate)
o Conclusion (briefly discuss the data and emphasize the significance of the results)
• Images and graphs cannot be uploaded in abstracts
• Indicate your presentation preference (oral/poster) when submitting your abstract. The final decision
about oral/poster presentation will stay with the Scientific Committee (in conjunction with Vice President
and Secretary General, IACAM), though attempts will be made to honour your choice.
• Data-based abstracts must provide Results. Any abstract which is submitted without results and
appropriately worded conclusions will NOT BE ACCEPTED. No Discussion will be entertained on this
matter
• It is expected that the abstract includes original data not previously published in a peer-reviewed journal
or the proceedings of a national or international meeting or presented in a scientific conference.
Technical Specifications
• Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word
appears for the first time.
• Use generic names of drugs.
• Express numbers as numerals.
