The Problems With Burning FuelThe Problems With Burning Fuel

The common problems associated with burning fuels may be summarised as follows:

• Incomplete CombustionIncomplete Combustion• Contamination & Deposit FormationContamination & Deposit Formation• Acid Formation and CorrosionAcid Formation and Corrosion• Water Contamination and Bacterial Water Contamination and Bacterial

GrowthGrowth

Fuel produced by the major oil companies has failed to keep pace with the requirements of modern engines, or the expectations of society in relation to emissions. Despite the technology being available, economic and other pressures prevent the major oil companies from applying it to the fuels they produce. Oil companies will continue to produce fuel to the minimum specification required by the relevant authorities.

Page 6: Firepower executive summary

Leading engine manufacturer CaterpillarCaterpillar says that 90% of engine wear is caused by acid action, not friction. For every 16,000 kilometers of usage, engine performance is reduced by 1%.

This is supported by data from the USA Road Transport Authority which confirms that 70% of engine performance problems can be attributed to the fuel system and 30% to the oil system.

What is it?What is it?

The Fuel System Purge Machine is designed specifically to remove harmful deposits from an engine’s fuel delivery system.

By applying our unique purge fluid whilst an engine is running, we are able to dissolve harmful contaminants and deposits from the vehicle’s fuel system, including the throttle body, fuel rail, injectors, valves and pistons, and carburetors.

Firepower FP4000 is designed specifically to treat problems that are inherent in diesel fuel and fuel storage. These problems include water contamination in fuel tanks and the formation of deposits in the fuel system of an engine.

Diesel fuel is unique in that it is hydroscopic, meaning it forms water through condensation in storage. This combination of water and diesel provides an ideal environment for bacteria to form. This bacterial algae contaminates the fuel and clogs filters, injectors and causes poor performance and black smoke during combustion.

Fuel & Oil Fuel & Oil ConditionersConditioners

An engine running on diesel contaminated with water and bacteria will experience the following:

• Poor performance

• Poor fuel economy

• Hard Starting

• Rough Idling

• Excessive Smoke Pollution

Firepower FP4000 works by emulsifying the water, starving the bacteria of its environment in which it grows. This water is passed harmlessly through to the combustion chamber. Firepower FP4000 also stops bacteria from reforming, and increases fuel storage life.

Firepower FP4000 contains active ingredients that remove harmful deposits from the fuel delivery system. FP4000 neutralizes acid, cleans varnish/sludge from fuel tanks and lines. Firepower FP4000 will also extend fuel filter life as shown below.

Firepower FP4000 is hydrocarbon based, and contains no harmful chemical ingredients or toxic additives.

Firepower FP10000 is an ashless conditioner concentrate for use in heavy fuel oils specifically formulated to achieve the following:

• Improved fuel stability• Improved fuel economy• Lower carbon formations • Control water contamination • Dramatic improvement in the burning of waste oil • Significantly reduced harmful exhaust emissions

Heavy fuel oil exhibits some very unique characteristics as it is a lesser refined product than petrol or diesel. Generally it is high in sulphur, contains paraffin, abrasive impurities such as corrosive ash and abrasive salts and other insoluble residues. A high percentage of water is present with the fuel in storage and thus acid formation occurs quite readily.

An engine running on low grade heavy fuel oil will experience the following:

• Poor Fuel Economy• Excessive Pollution• Excessive Engine Wear• Increased Maintenance Costs

Firepower FP10000 – The SolutionFirepower FP10000 – The Solution

Firepower FP10000 has been formulated for optimum water and bacteria control. Firepower FP10000 disperses this water into the fuel slowly, removing the environment for the bacteria to live in, and allows the water to be burned off.

When this is accomplished bacteria cannot reproduce and the associated problems are eliminated. Acid formation is dramatically reduced as are the other various poisonous gases resulting in reduced harmful exhaust emissions.

Firepower FP10000 contains inhibitors to prevent the formation of deposits in the fuel storage system. Fuel filter life is extended after the initial cleanup has occurred.

Firepower FP10000 will:

• Improve fuel economy due to better fuel atomisation and combustion catalyst • Clean and maintain the fuel system• Control corrosion and deposits• Provide lubrication for the moving parts in the fuel system• Reduce maintenance costs

Firepower Alpine is designed to eliminate problems associated with diesel fuel in cold climates.

• Prevents diesel from freezing

• Helps stop ping, knock and hesitation

• Improves combustion efficiency

• Improves power and responsiveness

• Cleans injectors

• Reduces harmful exhaust emissions

Diesel fuel contains paraffin wax, which is present as a result of the refining process. When the air temperature drops to approximately 3 degrees Celsius or less, the wax molecules bond together to restrict and in severe cases stop the fuel from flowing altogether. An engine with fuel in this condition will experience the following problems:

• May fail to start

• Will experience severe hesitation

• Rough engine idling

• Produce excessive smoke

• Poor fuel economy

Firepower Alpine – The Firepower Alpine – The SolutionSolution

Alpine works by stopping the wax molecules from binding together to restrict the fuel flow. Alpine also contains cleaning agents that will help to do the following:

• Neutralize acids in aged or high sulphur fuel

• Disperse moisture in fuel and fuel lines

• Prevent fuel system deposits

How Engine Oil is How Engine Oil is

AffectedAffected Research shows that approximately 10% of oil remains in the engine after the oil is drained. This oil includes wear metals, silica, soot, acids of combustion and water.

These contaminants reduce the effectiveness of the lubrication system leading to increased wear, reduced engine life, reduced engine performance and increased service costs.

In extreme cases, engine damage can occur.

How does it work ?How does it work ?

The Oil System Dialysis cleans all parts of the engine that are lubricated with oil, including the sump, bearings and hydraulic lifters.

The machine controls the flow of a specially formulated oil, made by Shell, through the engine whilst the engine is running. This oil contains agents to clean out contaminants from the engine.

This oil is then continuously passed through our unique 3 stage filtration process, removing all traces of these contaminants down to 5 microns in size, which is smaller than the diameter of a human hair !

When this process is complete, the engine is restored to a “like new” condition, with the contaminants filtered and removed.

An Oil System Dialysis will :

• Improve performance

• Improve fuel economy

• Extend the life of your oil

• Allow smoother running

• Remove wear metal

• Prolong the life of your engine

• Reduce exhaust emissions

• Save maintenance costs

Product SafetyProduct Safety

Firepower products have been safely used for many years. The products do not contain any harsh chemicals that can damage an engine or expensive piece of equipment. The base materials for our fuel conditioning products are hydrocarbons which are fully compatible with the fuel, and full training is provided to ensure the correct application of the products in the field.

Firepower carries a AUD$20 million insurance policy in the unlikely event that any damage is caused to equipment by the use of Firepower products. To date, we have not had a claim.
