The Boat - fire and Rescue Station was established for preparation to the public incidents by nature or man-made for Chao Phraya River and Canal living.

Due to the increased population with the geography and housing create the unexpected incidents.

The research data was gathered by interviewing local governments including fire and rescue stations who have the responsibilityto rescue victims by fire and recue boat.

Siam kingdom since the era of Ayuthaya , the settlement of Thai people were related to the Chao Phraya River, and most used vehicle was boat.

1885 In the era of Rattanakosin , Siam kingdom had the trading with abroad by river, in the Bowring treaty which Thai signed the contract with England specified that Customs House must be located closed to the pier and river. Accordingly, the custom house building at Bangrak was built in the river front and used for a meantime , then the function dissolved to the River Police station .

1959 River Police station was established due to the main transportation in the past is concerned by river. First duty was river and canal patrol of PradungKrung Kasem which are the area of market by the river. Then , the name was changed to Bangrak fire and rescue station in 2003, who are responsible for security the River and Land.

Extinguish fire incident

The fire incident is at the front of river, the fire and rescue boats will pump the water underneatha boat and can extinguish quickly where in the area does not have a fire host.

Extinguish fire incident. Drags or carries victims from emergency scenes.

Information , support injury.

Flowing of water goes by the main monitor under a fire and rescue boat.

If the incident area cannot be reached at the waterfront , firemen will connect the pump engine with a long tube to extinguish fire.

Lesson learned from waterfront houses of Chao Phraya River. The fire occured and fire trucks cannot get in to extinguish fire. It becomes the need of fire boats.

The transition of fire and rescue boats

from bangrak to samsen , because the

building of Bangrak would like to

renovate in order to preserve the old

building area.Samsen

Bangrak

The purpose is to develop samsen fire and rescue

station design that would meet the needs of fireman

duty in the future of refurbishment project.

Page 17: Fire Station Research

While their conditions are less than

desirable, the locations for boat fire

and rescue station are appropriate

since the station can go to

extinguish fire and rescue people

along the waterfront area of Chao

Phraya River , Bangkok Noi Canal

,and also support the new building parliament for security.

Now the whole functions are discriminated against the firefighters , and not in arrangements has led to the point where to design equal facilities.

The following research question was posed:

How the function oriented building could offer into specificity, and linkwith surrounding environment ?

COMMAND- AND TRAINING CENTER OF THE COLOGNE PROFESSIONAL FIRE BRIGADE

“ The Intention was to place emphasis on the outstanding significanceof the fire brigade with its crucial function in respect of security and society.”

Since 09/11/2001 awareness of a possible terrorist threat has increased throughout the world. Competent authorities of the city of Cologne have stated that the primary control unit of the fire brigade bears a high risk.

Foam Tote Storage Room A total of six (6) foam Tote containers. These containers hold foam for fire fighting.

Decontamination Areaa smaller shower and a special sink, where they can clean themselves as well as their contaminated equipment.

Petrol Tank/ Gasoline/ Delivery/ Service: There is no tank with petrol/gasoline being stored at this marine firehouse location. The Navy Yard in Brooklyn (East River, east of Manhattan) covers these needs for the boat.

Two work benches with shelving above , have compartments where the firemen store/hang their individual uniform equipment such as helmets, jacket, boots, etc.

Mechanical area contains all units for the building service (Ventilation system for the kitchen, energy recovery units for the heating system, etc.)

Since the building is constructed atop a pier, there’s no basement to accommodate all building systems.

Utility Service covers incoming power, gas, water, telecom/data, TV, as well as sewage lines going out of the building with a tie-in to the public system.

Infrastructure The integration of communications, mechanical and circulation systems was conceived of as a landscape of connected constellations which create pockets of more intimate spaces of refuge for FDNY personnel between emergency response calls.
