(red label) - Water Ideal for use against fires involving materials such as wood, paper, furnishings and carpets. NOT TO BE USED on electrical risks, fats, oils or fuel. (black label) - CO2 (Gas) Carbon Dioxide fire extinguishers are safe to use on electrical fires and on flammable liquids. DO NOT USE in a confined space. (yellow label) - Wet chemical Specially designed for fires involving burning fat or oil. It contains a specially formulated wet chemical solution which, when applied to burning oil, cools and emulsifies. This process immediately seals the surface and prevents it from catching fire again. They are also safe on wood, paper and textiles. (cream label) - Foam Ideal for liquids, fat, paint, spirits, oil, petrol, etc. but are also effective against fires involving wood, paper and textiles. NOT TO BE USED on electrical equipment. (blue label) - Dry powder Designed primarily for gaseous fires and also for commercial and domestic premises where many different materials present a wide variety of fire hazards. Suitable for virtually all fire risks, being very effective on furnishings, paper, carpets, liquids, fat, paint, spirits, oil, petrol and gaseous fires. They are also safe on electrical risks.
