FINTECH CUP PROSPECTUSMay 24-26, 2017 | Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto | www.payments.ca

Payments Canada is at the forefront of innovation in financial services. Change is happening everywhere in payments, and we are part of it. We hosted the first ever Canadian FinTech Cup at our annual conference in 2016, to give Startups a platform and the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas.

And we’re doing it again. Back by overwhelming demand, we are proud to continue to provide a forum for FinTech Startups to get the exposure and funding they need to grow their business.

This year will be bigger and better. We are accepting more submissions. We have different categories to compete in. We have a bigger judging panel. And if you make it, you will find yourself on the main stage, live pitching to over 1,500 industry leaders.

Companies will submit proposals for judging. Successful incumbents will be invited to pitch their business proposal live at The Summit in front of a panel of esteemed judges. Top contenders will move into the final round where they will present on the plenary stage before a winner is chosen.

Participants will provide a pitch deck and an optional short video as part of their submission package. Our judges will review all the submissions and select the top 10 companies as finalists. As a reward for making the cut you will be given one conference pass and a chance to pitch your idea at the Payments Canada Summit in May.

From the ten finalists, five companies will be selected to pitch their idea on day one of the conference in a breakout session. The remaining five teams will present their ideas in a breakout session on day two of the conference. From each session, two companies will advance to the finals on the last day of the conference.

On day three on the main stage, the winners from the two breakout sessions will have an opportunity to do a rapid-fire, two-minute pitch to the judges and plenary audience. After the four presentations are complete, the judges will select the winner of the FinTech Cup. The remaining three finalists will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award, and will be determined by live voting on The Summit app.
