FINNOVAREGIO Foundation (hereinafter FINNOVA) is a non-profit European foundation established in 2009, based in

Brussels and with several branch offices in Spain (Valencia, Sevilla, Vitoria, Barcelona y Madrid).

FINNOVA (www.finnova.eu) provides expertise in European funding programmes (EU project consulting and proposals

development), with particular experience in Horizon 2020, LIFE and INTERREG. FINNOVA develops communication

and dissemination campaigns, promoting projects and targeting key groups to generate participation among the

European audience, focusing on achieving great impact on public society. From a regulatory dimension, FINNOVA

specializes in lobby and advocacy, defending and representing the interests of our clients in the European institutions.

FINNOVA boosts entrepreneurship in Europe within the fields of new technologies, sustainable development,

environment, energy efficiency and renewable energy, smart cities, water, waste, tourism and social inclusion through

different European and national projects and initiatives that support entrepreneurial projects based on innovation.

FINNOVA promotes innovation at both regional and local level across Europe, and internationally through partner

countries. Our services are open to all innovative organisations, from smart start-ups, SMEs, associations, and/or

networks, in both private and public sector. We operate across the innovation cycle, from ideas and concept

generation to commercialisation.

In addition, FINNOVA develops spin-off services in association with public institutions which promote

environmental sustainability, social inclusion and entrepreneurship. Citizens and businesses can access these

facilities in order to obtain financial and non-financial resources.

Introduction

A package of tailored services aimed at offering a ‘second-level

acceleration programme’ for Start-ups and SME’s from a

European dimension. The aim is to help Start-ups, young

entrepreneurs and SME innovation projects to overcome

barriers to innovation through a European platform of financing,

mentoring, networking, and various of other support services

relevant to each project.

An information system consisting of an alert system that will

keep subscribers updated on programmes, aids and calls

targeted at the interest of entrepreneurs and graduates. It

includes an e-learning platform with different seminars and

courses on European programmes or calls such as EPSO or SME

Instrument.

An initiative promoted by the European Commission and

Implemented by FINNOVA in collaboration with the

commission’s Startup Europe initiative. It aims at recognising, on

the one hand, the work carried out by the startups based in

Europe and, on the other hand, creating a StartUp Europe

Awards Alliance for organisations that support Startups across

Europe.

Social Media

• The regular and final results of the project will also be promoted and

disseminated through the use of social networks, such as Facebook, LinkedIn,

Twitter or Facebook, among others. It will improve the initial promotion and the

final results dissemination.

• There will be links between the web site and the social media profiles in order to

create a project information network system.

Newsletter and press-release services:

• The newsletters will contain more detailed information about the project

developments and will be addressed at the project target groups.

• The current information about the project work and its outcomes shall be

summarised in press-releases which will be sent to all suitable papers or journals.

• In order to popularise the project, the potential results, there shall be developed

Dissemination through events:

• National information days

o All partners will organise national information days to spread widely the

benefits of the project’s results among their stakeholders at national level.

Participants will be invited to contribute their experience, insights,

expectations, feedback and ideas towards the development of the project

results.

o The WP dissemination leader will cooperate in the organisation of each

national event.

• Congress and other events:

o The partners will be able to participate in regular events in which to

discuss, promote and disseminate the results and the impact achieved by

the project. The most useful and appropriate events will be discussed with

the partners in order to devise a consensus and plan.

• Final conference:

o Organising an international final conference in Brussels in order to spread

the project results on a broader EU scale. It will improve the exploitation of

the results among all the stakeholders.

Networking activities

• One European network of stakeholders will be developed in order to

communicate actions linked to the project (events/seminar, official documents

produced by other entities, etc.). It will try to involve European networks and

spread the project results widely.

• FINNOVA is an international organisation located in Brussels and will allow to hold

meetings and interviews with representatives of the European institutions and

MEPs to approach and disseminate the development and results of the project.

• Using FINNOVA´s and partners´ existing contacts as well as developing new

contacts will facilitate the dissemination of the project results.

NOBEL GRID aims to develop, deploy and evaluate advanced tools, ICT services and business

models for all actors in the Smart Grid and electricity market in order to ensure shared benefits

from cheaper prices, more secure and stable grids and new clean electricity. These tools and

services will enable active consumers’ involvement, innovative business models for new actors

and the integration of distributed renewable energy production, in order to improve the quality

of life for European citizens.

FINNOVA involves activities related to communication,

cooperation and on-going exchanges with related

research efforts, including liaisons with EU-funded

research projects and networks of excellence; as well as

research initiatives going beyond European boundaries (in

USA for instance).

This activity comprises the participation in EC

concentration and cluster meetings, joint workshops and

roundtable discussions. Concrete outcomes of these

interactions will be the exchange of concepts via

contributions, tutorials, publications, etc.

FINNOVA also created an International Advisory Board

and an User Group that involves members of Universities,

industries or public administration experts in Smart Grids

or working in energy issues and keep them updated with

relevant information about the project. FINNOVA have to

organise workshops and open sessions of the consortium

so the partners can address to them directly their

questions. This fact will ensure that stakeholders are

actively taking part.

FINNOVA has contributed during the first period to the deliverable “Energy policies and

regulatory framework analysis” mainly related to analysis of European regulation for a series

of topics, determination of compliance of a number of use cases with national regulation in

the related pilot sites and review of the final draft of the deliverable.
